I've been getting bored lately and I think it's damage...
Damage is thought to make League more enticing when it's making it duller.
Nobody likes one-shots since they happen all the time now. Damage just takes away skill expression. Damage isn't the only way to change strength points.
Where can this game be fun? Make the MOBA like chess - where there are various combinations to win the game.
You have this fixated win direction where it's simply can I out DPS the enemy. It shouldn't be so blunt most of the time. You have very binary gameplay. It's dry. It's dull.
Why not focus on more macro gameplay? Why not make objectives more complex? Why not create new units on the map?
There's this level of gameplay of League that's subpar to me because the game is so binary once you hit Gold+ as players play more consistently. You literally know how games will play out if you simply analyze it. And with the amount of damage, it's like a babysitting mechanic that prevents poor plays but rewards the user because the amount of damage is absurd.
I think we need to take a step back and look less at focusing on items/damage and more on macro gameplay and other directions to manipulate the game.
