Which jungle item is that? Who can tell!? (Lack of clarity in jungle item iconization)

So, watching IEM San Jose makes me realize something bugging me on Live...namely that the enchantment that a jungler has it WAY more important than which smite they have, and it can be really hard at a glance to tell what jungle item they have and whether it has been upgraded or not. Did that Skarner build Juggernaut or Devourer? Boy that's going to make a big difference on if I think I can duel him, way more than just knowing he can AoE smite!

In game its something you can get used to over time, just trying to quickly identify the color which I don't currently have memorized, but until then I can do a mouseover when I have a moment, but when I'm watching an Esports event on anything but my TV, that tiny little gem can be really hard to see and I'll have no idea what the pros (or semi-pros) are doing or where they're at in the game. While maybe not important to some, having clarity on the standing of the whole game I'm watching is important to me.

I know art assets aren't the easiest thing to get access to, I feel like the clarity on jungle itemization is really poor with the current setup and I'd like to see something done to improve it.

I agree, change the second upgrade to small icons on machete(like on enchanted boots), and give the final items their own icons(with the respective smite-enchantment-icon). It'S hard to see if the item is already fully upgraded or not, and what stats they have, and it'S also wierd to have an axe/saber that gives no ad/as but ap or health....

also, a dragon-counter for spectator mode would be nice, so you see which team got how much buff-stacks.

Rito really dropped the ball on the lack of a dragon counter and the overall uninformative spectator experience. Previously a lead was much easier to see.

Personally I would have done the smite update as an enchantment on hunters machete and then made the updates specific items with attached enchantment.

I was going to make my own post about this, but then I saw your post. Nice job.

We could use some Esports clarity here. In game I can see better or just scroll over to see what enchantment each jungler has taken, but in Esports it's pretty much impossible to tell what enchantment the junglers have. I'm always interested to see what the pros are building, so a little clarity here would be super helpful!

Thanks!
