Am I the only one who feels Glass Canon builds have gone obsolete?
It feels like ap health items are the way to go especially for immobile mages. I understand they need defenses, but health should be a tank stat, not a mage stat. I say this because I'm begining to see Lux build
.
I think Zhonyas active is a good example of a mage defense item .
There plenty of creative solutions for immobile mages defense. Riot just needs some creativity and hard work at balancing.
Just off the top of my head here are some items actives that would be great for mages.
Shrink size....The mage would become really small and hard to click on for a few seconds. This makes targeting and click hard but AOE spells will still do the job.
Reduced visiblity. Mage and healthbar becomes semi transparent for 3 seconds. They are still visible, just hard to see in a team fight.
Multi clone. Mage produces a clone of themselves for a few seconds.
Grounds of Sanctuary. Mage produces a small aura around themselve that knocks back champ. This is a very small aura like 200 range and is like 0.4 seconds long. Enough to stop 1 auto attack from a master yi.
Friendly foe. This would turn your health bar from red to green for 2 seconds when seen by the enemy. If used well in a team fight, the enemy might think you're part of there team.
Now, I know these can be op, but they can have conditional requirements to active. All of these could be a shared unique passive. They will also require 80 percent mana to activate. That way I can be proud to be a mana user because I have access to such cool items.
None of these items/actives would have health as a stat. Health are for tanks/fighters. This would be more in the definition of what a mage is.
A Glass Canon, not a part time tank.
