Very serious face of League of Legends with little magic
Hey guys. It isn't rant thread.. I just wanted to share few little things with you all.
Magic
I've started playing LoL when I was about 16 years old. I loved concept of magic, spells, abilities. Those were the things that lured me in. My first hundred of games was trying out every possible mage. Ofcourse there wasn't any kind of "META" back then, it often you'd see weird teams. 2 mages bottom? Rush for into brush for FB? All worked. I loved it. Back then, if Riot decided to remove all ranged ADCs I wouldn't bat an eye.. Like.. Why would I care. Bows? Guns? Swords? I have tons of other games with that stuff.
Time has passed. I've withnessed Mages rising and falling. Their items added, reworked, removed, changed, buffed, nerfed. I've seen it all. Some changes made me smile.. Other changes were really painfull & sad.. But they happen. Just like in this pre-season 6. I don't mind ADCs getting all that power. They will have to pay for it in some way. I bet burst mage/assasin Meta will follow up shortly after those changes. What made me unhappy was that Riot took this Route of making magic less usefull.. Last hit with AA, use magic only rarely.. Then AA some more.. I love to spam spells, I love to see things explode.. It saddens me to no end that fantasy world made by Riot is trampled by simple brute force. This world should be bursting with magic.. Yet all I see is AD, crit, AS, AD and again crit.. I still hope, that one day Riot will rethink their decisions and make magic more meaningfull, more present.
Serious Face
When I started playing LoL wasn't serious. We had lots of silly characters. Like they have been taken from bed stories for kids, cartoons or fairy tales. Now? Everything has to have serious face, serious pose, serious background.. From my point of view it kind of looks like this game is growing up from all silly things. LoL, as a "teenager" wants to be serious, angry.. Even dreadful. I don't think we can stop it.. Or I don't even know if we should.. Imo it all started with Irelias or Akalis skin.. Don't remember which one, as they always looked similar. Then every relased skin afterwards had to be grim, scary, serious.. For a game with cartoon-like graphics it kinda looks silly... All i know that DOTA always aspired to be the really-really-serious with dark map & champions. Anyways, what do you think?
That's all I wanted to share with you guys atm. Yeah.. I know it isn't much nor is it important. Just though I'd feel better by talking about it. Feel free to comment :)
