Do placement wins/losses affect your hidden mmr?

Title^ I'm just curious if they have an effect on your hidden mmr. I know that I'll already get placed lower than usual but I wonder like say I got Placed, and didn't play ranked after being placed for a month, would I still have insane lp gains (to normalize my rank out)
