Ranked skipping question

So im still fairly new to understanding how the ranked system works i started in season 3... and i knew skipping was possible but what are the requirements to skip divisions? ive only ever have had it happend to me once so if someone can inform me plz and ty <3 [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
