Feeling Cautiously Optimistic for Pre-Season
Anyone else feel the same way?
The reason that I say "Cautiously Optimistic" is that the Runes Reforged, when they come, will not be a perfect pearl. They'll have good things and bad things about them as we become more accustomed to them, as well as the common happening of various set-ups becoming the new "Meta/OP Build" for whatever champs they prove to be most effective on. I'm just hoping that it will shake up the meta enough to where winning lanes OTHER than Bot-lane will have impact again.
It seemed like in past seasons (Now I realize that I might be looking at the past seasons through those wondrous rose-tinted nostalgia glasses, which tend to block out the bad and focus only on the good) that when a player would win their lane, be it Top-lane or Mid-lane, it just seemed to carry a lot more weight to it than the current way of doing things.
I've had numerous games over the course of the "ADC Meta" where I would win my lane (I'm a Top-Lane Main, FYI) or my Mid-Laner would win theirs, but the Bot-lane would not, and that would sink us no matter how well the rest of us played.
So, in closing, I know that when the new Runes set-up arrives, some new "Meta" will emerge, be it Mages, Assassins, Tanks or some continuation of the ADC one, but I just hope that regardless of which it is, winning other lanes will have impact again.
If you've read this far, thanks for reading my thoughts on the matter, and GL and HF in your games! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
