New Season Resets

So, I understand why you can't have people who were diamond last season start in diamond again. That's not how a ladder should work as it incentivizes a 'safe' system of playing. But I find it ridiculous that I, a Silver 3 player, am somehow high enough to drop five complete sections with a 7/10 win rate and 6 carries for placements. That's ludicrous, and I'm sure plenty of other people that arduously climb from Bronze are having similar feelings. What's the point of climbing to G1 or P5 if you're gonna knock us back to Silver? Or escaping Bronze just to be put back? Now, I'm not demanding my elo be raised or anything because that's not a systemic solution or something I'd consider reasonable for your company to do. I am, however, requesting either it be changed or an explanation be provided for why the drop is so steep while low on the ladder.
