Make actual Dominion playable instead of "Definitely Not Dominion" ?

Am i the only die hard fan of Dominion out there?

I felt heartbroken when the map was removed and then they gave us "Definitely Not Dominion" as a joke to "no one likes Dominion so we give you this instead"

It was the only map in the entire game where you could play the "Tower Defense" game on "solo bot" and it was a nice option to people who want to play Chill games instead of ARAM. I know i am probably the only one crying for Dominion back and i know i'm going to be made a joke for saying this but...give us Dominion back?

Ah Dominion. Riot got rid of you because no one played you. And no one played you because Riot refused to dedicate resources to you. And there were no resources dedicated to you because no one played you. And no one played you because Riot refused to dedicate resources to you.

Riot admitted that it wasn't just the playerbase's fault Dominion wasn't popular. They took some responsibility as well, since Rioters were painfully aware they left it to rot away on it's own.

Funnily enough, Riot leaving the mode alone kept a lot of horrible balance decisions out of Dominion entirely. It was one of the best parts about playing Dominion: "Come to the Crystal Scar, Riot doesn't balance things here anymore!"

And then Def Not Dom came along as was not only a pretty unengaging gamemode, but also a far cry from what Dominion had been. It was one of the most underwhelming RGMs, and queues for it were pretty long as far as RGM queues go. A lot of players just didn't have fun.

the entire dominion playerbase argued against it, but riot argued that it was not worth server upkeep and champion balance payroles even though it had an active playerbase in the thousands

it also did not solve their farm-bot problem

No, you're not the only one there were hundreds of thousands of us who played Dominion regularly and were deeply disheartened by Riot's decision.

You must have missed the controversy around the removal of the mode.

I think Riot feels bad about removing it, but it didn't have enough players to justify it's existence. It costs money to keep a map like that running and updated, and it's money that dominion players weren't providing. That sucks, but it's just how business works.

dominion was the games least snowbally mode, even if you were at 160 points to the enemys 30 you could still lose.

aram is won and lost at champ select, and SR can be too taxing sometimes(8 minute 5 man gank squad bot), Dominion was a chill, team-oriented gamemode where anything was possible

I doubt Riot will bring full-on Dominion back, but I wouldn't mind if we got a rotating 'Crystal Scar Queue' that was available on days when RGMs aren't active. That would make some version of Dominion available every week, which would be nice.

Honestly, now that Youtubers can use the sandbox tool for Spotlights and other stuff, the only ones who still miss Dominion are the Farmbot users...
