Make stuns have immediate impact on dashing targets

There is one feature that I really like in Dota, because I feel it more properly rewards fast reflexes and good mechanics. In League of Legends, for the most part, when you are in the middle of a dash and hit with a stun you still continue to move to your destination, but will be stunned in the air, as well as when arrive to your target. In Dota if Jax (for ex) was in the middle of his leap strike and was hit with a stun, he would drop out of the air on the spot instead of continuing the full leap strike distance. If you actually line up your skill and hit some one while they are dashing quickly, I think it is good to be rewarded for having good aim or timing, especially now since this game has far less point and click hard CC abilities than it used to. It would reward skill, as well as make the champions feel more like solid objects and less like liquid entities sliding through obstacles in battle using osmosis.

Would that be harder to accomplish on the current engine than I think it is?

some dashes are stopped midair and kinda negated completly. Zac and tristana come to mind.

mfw they specifically removed this interaction with Ahri's Charm.

You don't like it when you hit Ezreal with some cc, and between the cast time and animation the entire cc duration is wasted and he still jumps and runs away? That's like my favorite thing tho

Oddly enough or maybe it's about coding but riot doesn't seem to like that dashes stopped if cc'd (except Veigar since they made his stun do so since MYMU) I'd ike to see that (and see Ahri's Charm the same since they get rid of it when it was actually a rewarding mechanic)

Only if they actually add a Z axis component so that when Tristana jumps OVER something she actually jumps OVER it rather than getting screwed because her "jump" is really a "dash".

This is something Riot can totally do for the Tank update, since so many have stuns.

They made Camille ult, I don't see why not

The already do this with displaces. If you are knocked up, suspended, or knocked back your dash is stopped on everyone as far as I know.

A. Spaghetti code

B. Personally, If anything, I think it'd be Snares that would stop a dash. Think about it. A stun immobilizes someone by making them unable to respond (getting hit in the head by a shield for instance), so momentum still happens. Binds/Snares/Roots/etc on the other hand is magic literally binding you into one place, where you can't move.

But doesn't it also reward reflexes (As you mentioned) for perfectly timing a jax q or riven e to simply put "cancel" cc.

Actually, this isn't really a Dota mechanic at all. Only Timber Chain and Icarus Dive ( and Charge of Darkess, though as it's a faux-channel that makes sense ) respond to disables - stuff like Leap, Pounce, Skewer continue to their destination even if the caster gets stunned during them. It's much like how League is currently; some dashes are prevented by disables, while most aren't.

Works for both. As a riven player, darius is able to interrupt my 3rd Q with his pull skill, while Im able to interrupt an aatrox's jump with my 3rd Q if i time it right. I dont think darius's ult can be interrupted, but its just one of those things where you have that favorable skill cancel against some and others have it for you. I think its balanced.

It shouldn't be hard at all. Veigar's E and Poppy's W have things to stop dashes.
