Match Dodging Penalty

I'd like to take a moment to present how unfair it is to penalize someone for 30 minutes because they dodged a match. I go into a ranked que, chose support and fill, got into champion select and i got bot lane. This would have been ok if it wasn't for the fact that the person that got support role chose Zed, and decided he was going to mid lane despite the role he was assigned and that nobody was willing to trade. I dodged the match to avoid taking the loss and received a 30 minute penalty. Of course this isn't the first time I've dodged a match recently or it would be only 5 minutes, but I find that almost every 1/5 games there is a troll, and to avoid taking the loss I have to get a soft ban for 30 minutes? It's completely unfair and I think a 5 minute ban should be the maximum amount for dodging.

Dodging a bad scenario is not a crime.

But how do you know it was an automatic lost? I've been in scenarios like this, and it's up to interpretation. For all you know this Zed could have carried you. Maybe the enemy team was also in this situation and you could have taken advantage of that. The fact if the matter is while this isn't something people like that shouldn't be an excuse to quit, let alone by that logic people will leave if they could the moment they see anything out of the meta! I don't think it's right to leave and not get some type of punishment especially if you do it too often. Because they you are just prolonging the situation. Some people don't have all day to play. They only have maybe one or two games and to get constantly kicked out for whatever reason is going to get irritating.

I do agree if we could get some sort of remake when situations like this happen in champ select would help.but I also don't want to see people abuse this type of thing just because people are picking champions they don't like!

If the penalty for dodging is low, queues are gonna take a lot longer, as people will jist keep dodging untill they get the role they want.

I mean you must have dodged alot of games to get a 30 minute timer, it is pretty stupid to be forced to play a game with a troll and lose lp because of it

what you do is you go into champ select you wait til the games loading and you restart pc or pres ctrl alt delete and end lol client

that way they can remake and nothing is lost lol

id get how riot penalties people for this do if i pick something like shaco suport wich i do in ranked all the time ( im silver 5 climbed to this from bronse 5 by only playing shaco sup ) i got 338k on shaco my next best champ would be sejuani wich has about 70k this is quite a difference i feel like im way better of playing shaco annywhere than what ever champ most of the time

i can play quite a good shaco suport for my elo the job of the suport isnt saving the adc every time he messes up the main job is presuring the enemy team so that your adc can get his cs

how ever theres allot of times where i start game with my mastery 7 shaco wich i have 338k on and can dream all of his skils where adc caitlin without even mastery level 4 goes full bananas on how i should be reported for shaco suport while minions havent even spawned

if you ask me shes the real trol here,

and if these players go dodge every comp they dont have trust in the game would be kind of ruined

As someone without a lot of time, the dodge penalty should be high. Too often do I queue up, get dodged games a couple times, then not have enough time left to actually play.

That would just make it even easier for people to dodge whenever they see a champion on their team they slightly dislike.

Isn't it the frequency or the number of games you dodge that determine the length of the queue? I've never had more than a 5 minute wait so idk how often you dodge...
