Item sets are poorly explained

I don't recall at any point during the tutorial or the client explaining what item sets are and the potential value of them. It was one of those things I just found while I was exploring the game tabs stuff when I was waiting in queue and ended up really liking. If Riot explained the feature better then it would probably be used way more.
