Why Enjoying League is Difficult
Maybe when the season kick-started with the new runes I began to feel angry with the amount of damage being put out and I immediately hopped into the forums talking about the ridiculous amounts of damage being tossed out from champions. However, no one could really tell at the time that it might be the new rune system.
Not long ago my friend was playing another champ while our other was playing a tank and he said something that stuck. "Look at him(a tank) doing the amount of damage that would take me at least three items to get before I could put out."
This has stuck to me as a ticking time bomb and over the course of a few months it's becoming REALLY hard to play this game even with my friends. It seems like some champions are just out of control while others are balanced but feel weak because Champion A is in meta and abusing the items or power given to it, while champion B is balanced and respecting the meta but the person playing champion B feels weak compared to Champion A. This case is like a plague happening more now than ever before.
Personally for me it felt like you could play whatever champion you wanted as long as you didn't feed and were at least average or knew the in's and out's of the champion you could provide enough help to your team while still being able to carry in other little ways.
Many people felt original being able to create and set up their own rune pages and it was part of the reason it made some things about league so original. If you wanted to place a certain play style on a champion you could do that, you didn't HAVE to always bow down and take all AD runes maybe you wanted to play with a funny Attack Speed page, or full AP Jax, or AP Shaco, the choice was yours. It was about having fun. Now I have to stare at my games and get pissed off because when I try to play to have fun I'm getting fucking stomped by one team not even because they're skilled. Because they chose 3 juggernauts or literally any other super meta champ and go tryhard.
Who the hell wants to tryhard in norms? Why can't we go back to goofing off? Why can't we troll build in URF and not get one side stomped like we did over the winter? Why in one for all did we have to permaban Brand but Teemo and Karthus got removed? (Before Karthus was removed in one for all we won games against him on PBE so I was a bit confused by his removal but whatever)
-Stop FORCING us to enjoy the game as YOU see fit Riot and let us decide what direction the game flows and maybe we'll tune in to see what pro-player like Aphromoo, Faker, or other cool professional outplays are like because thats the HYPE that brought us to watch in the first place.
-Let me watch the pro's do amazing OUTPLAY'S without getting screamed at by their team for doing something risky and risking putting their bounty gold on the line like they're OBLIGATED to carry and not enjoy themselves.
-Stop shoving competitive down our throats. If we want to watch it we will. It's not the NFL and it will never be the NFL.
-If a champion is in a decent position then don't mess with it unless it needs tweaks to keep up with the times. "If it's not broken, don't try to fix it."
-If we want to main a champion don't make us feel punish for playing a champion that's not meta.
I used to invite people to come play this game with me but until things are reverted to how creative individually it was before I wouldn't reccommend it to anyone. In fact I tried to persuade a friend last night to play. He played two games and said it was the most anti-climatic game he had played in a while, and was bored out of his mind. Anyway, those are my thoughts on what can improve and the frustration I have with this game.
