I think my real frustration with League is this:
Whether we're talking about hextech crafting, dynamic queue, champion balance, champion health, objective balance, vision, etc, the truth remains that Riot hasn't actually improved the game that much.
I understand, when you're making constant changes, the game state will constantly be in flux. Some patches will be better than others. But overall, I think the key frustration is that Riot keeps saying "we're learning," and we keep saying "we're waiting." We want a balanced game. We want a game where the designers don't release broken champs, broken items, and broken systems. We want Riot to stop pushing out mediocre reworks and focus on fixing the champs we have. We want a game where we don't have to worry about how OP trinity force is gonna be with these changes, etc.
I get it. You want the designers to keep having work. That's fine. I just don't understand why we can't fix the game how it is NOW before we keep adding additional complications. I want to see a preseason where Riot buckles in and fixes some difficult systems, and commits to balancing that stuff QUICKLY. Like, the way healing works. Or vision/stealth. Or objective balance
The problem, I think, is that it is impossible to find the center of balance when you change too much at once. Riot needs to make ONE change, then balance the game around it. Then, when we reach equilibrium, THEN you can feel free to make another change to upset that equilibrium, and keep ALL your people focused on getting equilibrium back. Like, if you change the way grievous wounds works, expect to have to change EVERY champion with a heal. Just expect that. That's a lot of changes, by itself, but your team could handle it if it had FOCUS. I think this is the way forward. Upvote if you're with me.
