Poppys new Ult: Should it stay this way or get a slight change in the way it functions?

After thinking a lot, and I rly mean a lot, about the Poppy rework the only thing that still seems out of place for me is the ulti, which imo is the way it is right now because they again tried to include some completely new effect to her build.

Especially when looking at the last few champs you can see that they love throwing those out: Kindred got a circle where nothing can die, Tahm can swallow and carry enemies and allies, Ekko can travel back in time, Bard has a circle where everything is zhonias-ed, etc. Now don't get me wrong, I like it that Riot is always thinking of new ways to keep champions unique, but I think in this case more of a simple ulti would have worked better for a champion like Poppy cause the one we got right now doesn't rly seem to fit imo due to a few reasons.

For once there is obviously the problem a few people seem to have with it, knocking the enemy away from the fight doesn't rly seem like a thing Poppy would want to do. I can see where this is coming from even tho I personally don't think it's that out of character for her.

MY biggest complain with it is that in most cases it seems like using the Ult uncharged is the way to go. The charged version might be good for a disengage (which is very not-Poppy) but in an actual fight I dout it's a easy thing to hit exactly those you want to have out of this teamfight AND manage to engage on the other enemies before they can regroup. So that makes it pretty much the only ability in the game that looses potential usefulness by charging it up. Very weird, especially for a champ like Poppy. Striking with controlled power might be something for a Irelia, not for a little smash-hungry yordle with a hammer, so you'd think if you have the option to charge your ultimate up the whole way, you should better do it.

(Plus I can imagine having an enemy escaping even tho you could reach it with your ult must be super frustrating, since you know your ult could just knock him up, but only reaches him you charge it enough that it knocks him to safety)

So I personally think the whole "knock towards base" isn't suited for this ult. It sure has potential but maybe it's better suited for the next time a peaceful champ ala Bard/Braum comes along. For Poppys Ult, I think making it a simple knockup would already be nice.

Like just greatly reducing the knockup on her uncharged version and using this for it no matter how charged. Then keep the base dmg the same and make the charge duration only decide it's range and the bonus ad scaling. (the base dmg would represent the weight of the hammer falling on the ground while the bonus ad scaling represents her strengh on how hard she swings it, idk just an idea^^)

I know that takes away what made her ult special, but I seriously think it would make her feel better as a fighter. And with her W, she already has something very unique in her set imo. So, any opinions on this? Which way would you guys prefer the ult?
