I feel like people over-exaggerate what champions constitute as "broken" rather than "overpowered"
From what I've noticed, people call champs like
as "Broken" without realizing that they're overpowered, not broken.
Overpowered would mean that have way too many strengths in their kits that make it seem very one sided. They're TOO powerful. However, they're not particularly "braindead" as much as you would think regardless of how much you hate these champions.
Before you call me biased because I main Darius, yes, I KNOW he's too strong. In fact, I think his utility should have priority in his buffs rather than his damage. (I think his damage should be nerfed).
However, when there are champions that are just so strong regardless if their abilities being too strong or too weak, I would point the finger at champions like
, Stat check based champs. Yeah, they do have some of their mechanics, but when you really think about it, they rely more on the strengths of their items rather than their base abilities. At that point, they break and their design is a mess that's totally unbeatable.
I also play a LOT of Tryndamere, but even I THINK HE'S TOO RELIANT ON STAT CHECKS. From my experience, he's ALWAYS thinking about his items over his abilities. A Tryndamere whose fed to the point of no return can just kill people without needing his r or e. He'd only use them if forced to.
So what I believe is, there's a line between overpowered and broken. Don't just use these phrases like they're the same thing. You gotta realize in order to fix these balance issues we first have to figure out what in particular is wrong with them.
