Loli Crusader's Guide to Git Gud.

So, you're in bronze. You're struggling to climb out because, "FKIN FEEDRS!" or something, and you've reached Dead Sea level's of saltitude. You've gone to the boards and posted your salty rantings with, "HO DO I CLMB?" looking for new heroes to play and things that have been stated a thousand times. I could tell you all day about which heroes and why you can abuse them till Rito realizes they've dun mess'd up with this season. (Psst. You can use this list you dirty cheese ball. . http://champion.gg/statistics/#?sortBy=general.playPercent&order=descend) Theres a lot more to "gitting gud" than just your champion roster and how well you make things dead.

You're probably thinking, (Actually, you're probably not thinking at all.) >"So Midget Crusader, who are you anyway?"

GREAT QUESTION BRONZE GOD. I'm (currently) a Silver League Superstar who has climbed out of the depth of bronze hell once before many years ago, but never has actually made a true push to actually climb the ladder because I lose interest. I'm here to tell you some key aspects you can use in any role, with any champion and how to git gud. Feel free to bitch and moan that I'm not plat or Diamond or that I'm just repeating information that everybody should know by now, but don't because.... Idunnah?

>"Why are you wasting your time and effort writing this?"

Because I'm on serious tilt right now and needed something to do to relax a bit, lest my W/L takes a serious dip and I drop divisions. I've been quick writing this for about 4 hours now silently venting to myself about how bad some people are, and how the fuck do some people not get the concept of working together at silver 3, which is a mish mash of last season golds, a couple of plats, and actual silvers.

Note: Theres a lot to consider to git gud, like, a whole fucking lot. This list isn't comprehensive, and never will be. I'll probably just copy paste different things that come up and hope they make sense. I might add a thing or three if I feel they're important enough. If you really wanna git gud, I'd check out a pro guide online and watching out some Youtube tutorial videos by some diamond level players. They're a lot more in-depth than this shoddy forum post will ever be. Also, this really isn't in any order. I tried to put things in a smart order, but thats a task for another day...or life time.

TL:DR: git gud.

First up, Mechanics. Yeah. This is extremely important if you wanna climb. Knowing how to properly animation cancel, harass, map awareness warding, gank, and last hit, are key to getting an edge on your opponent. Theres also knowing when to dragon, and when to do baron, but I'll only touch on those briefly.

-First, last hitting. Mindlessly AAing in your lane is BAD. It opens you up to ganks from the enemy jungler and sets you behind in gold gain tremendously. The more gold you have, the stronger you are over your opponents. Last hitting is pretty basic, wait for the minion to be near death then auto attack, or use an ability to score yourself some gold. You can also do this as a support on an enemy champion to be a total dick and piss off your ADC. (For real, don't do that. Shit can't cool and needlessly pisses off your buddies, I know, it happens sometimes, but if you see your friend can get the kill, just back off and take an assist. Don't be THAT guy.)

-Second, animation canceling. You might also know this as "orb walking" if you played DotA once upon a time. Animation canceling is one of those things that i'd say is paramount to learn, especially if you play an ADC, or god forbid, RIVEN. When you're auto attacking, theres a lot of extra frames to your heroes movement after the shot has already been fired, or you've swung your melee attack. Animation canceling stops the extra frames so you can keep moving and get off more attacks, and therefore, more damage than you could if you just let your AA play normally. To animation cancel, you attack, then input a movement command while the attack is in the air. At first, its a lot harder than it sounds, and takes some time to truly get the hang of. Proper use of attack move, (A button, and clicking) makes this a lot easier to pull off. Heres a video that describes, and shows it in action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zi4AlSwEfrQ

-Third, harassing/trading. No, I don't mean asking them if they wanna trade their first edition Charzard for your Pikachu, and then calling them a motherless gimp when they tell you to eat a fat one. Harassing would be when you're laying on a might bit of hurt on your lane opponent without any retaliation, and trading is when you exchange a little bit of fire on each other. You always wanna come out ahead in a trade obviously, thus you need to keep in mind how much damage your opponent can put out, and how reliably they can do so. This varies on player skill and how often they can land skillshots. Nice example would be someone like Ezreal. Stand behind your creeps and you drastically lower his potential to trade. You effectively eliminate his ability to use Mystic Shot on you, and he can only use his AAs or his Essence Fucks which really won't be hitting very hard unless he's an asshole and playing an AP build.

If this sounds all really simplistic and basic, thats because it really freaking is. The real trick is properly controlling your harassing and last hitting so you're not needlessly pushing the creep wave forward and opening yourself to ganks, or an all in, or falling behind the enemy and missing gold. Again, GOLD. IS GOOD. It helps you cause bigger ouchies to the bad guys.

-Fourth, Murdering unsuspecting idio... I mean, victims with the power of the insidious gank. Ganking is basically, sneaking up on some moron who doesn't know how to ward, isn't paying attention, is so far over extended, or some mix of all of these, and butchering them like the swine they are. Ganking is a major aspect when playing the Jangler and mid lane role. It helps make bad match ups become good match ups for you, and really bad for the enemy. Its also a damn good way to make the enemy laner tilt if you do it often enough. Pitch a tent and watch them cry. Im not gonna go too deep on this, the goal to a good gank is looking an extremely weak enemy, or over pushed enemy and working with your friends, if applicable, to get ahead, or set up an objective score. Proper ganking early can help snowball your buddies to becoming really, really scary a lot faster than they normally would. Picking a good gank requires some practice so you don't end up feeding your enemy a double/triple kill. I'll have a little bit more on this later. TLDR, kill the enemy, set up an objective, snow ball your friends. Gank. ######Pleaseuseresponsibly.

-Fifth. Map. Fucking. Awareness. Saving the most important for last. Keep a goddamn eye on your mini map as often as you can. If you notice the enemy mid laner has gone missing, and the dope ass on your team hasn't called it yet, call it yourself, and fall the fuck back if you're over extended.
Keep an eye out for your buddies too. Maybe the enemy jungler has caught out a buddy of yours really close to your lane. Instead of waiting for the help pings, get your ass moving and save them. Not only do you have strength in numbers, it also cuts off enemy reinforcements from trying to get in as they then have to get around the healthy team members to get to the weakened one. Good map awareness can also help you get an edge on where an enemy might be going next, so you can counter gank, or even steal an objective in the meanwhile. A good example is if you're playing top lane and notice the enemy has gone down to gank bot lane. Instead of just last hitting, switch to actively pushing the lane and try to take a tower as a trade. Games are both won and lost by map awareness.

BONUSU ROUNDU, Baron/Dragon/Rift Harold Alright nerds. Baron is that big purple dildo monster on the right side of the map by top lane. Killing that big beast grants your team a nice big buff of damage, health and mana regen, increases your recall speed and makes your minions become really obnoxious. Baron is the single best way to end an enemy seige and close the game. Dragon is that big lizard thing on the left side of the map by bot lane. Killing dragon gives you different bonuses depending on how many times you have killed him. Copy paste from wiki page GO. DRAGON'S MIGHT: +6% attack damage and ability power DRAGON'S WRATH: +15% damage to towers and buildings DRAGON'S FLIGHT: +5% movement speed DRAGON'S DOMINANCE: +15% damage to minions and monsters ASPECT OF THE DRAGON: Doubles all previous bonuses and your attacks burn for 150 true damage over 5 seconds. This stack only lasts 180 seconds or until death. Theres also the Rift Harold thing, he kinda gives you a mini baron buff to one member of your team when hes killed, I typically forget hes even there because im stupid as hell.

So, when the fuck do we kill these stupid mothers? Great question. Whenever the fuck you can. The enemy is all on the other side of the map. The enemy is all dead. The enemy is weak ass. The enemy is defending their base. The enemy jungler is top side (bot side if we're talking Rift Harold.) and the enemy bot lane is pushed back to their tower or just flat out not paying attention, or dead as fuck. Same goes for the mid laner. Solid Snake like. Udyr, Warwick, X2daZ are real good at that.

Good control over dragon and Baron can keep the enemy on the run and completely helpless against you. If you see an opening for it, rally your team, to try and grab it. Dragon in particular, don't worry, its not GG if you lose out on one or two, but definitely try to keep the enemy from getting 3 or more. Apparently, legend has it that Dragon/Baron/Harold are almost never killed in bronze league, so rallying your team to get a handle on these things are an amazing way to get ahead.

I'm sure someone is going to bring up points to what im missing with this part, and thats fine. I'll add them in, like warding, later on if I remember.

DEUX. Champion roster. You don't need a massive roster to climb, nor do you need to be a master at every role. You should be good at 2 maybe 3 roles, dynamic or no, its always good to be rounded out, and maybe need 2-3 champions you're good with per proficient role. Try to also keep your roster filled with some less common picks like Trist or even Ashe, if you're an ADC dude, just so you're not caught with your pants down if your favorite is picked. It also adds some shock value if the enemy really doesn't know what your pick is capable of and could cheese you a kill or three. I wouldn't say, "OH, TOTALLY MAIN ADC MORDE, OR URGOT. IT'LL TOTALLY THROW EM FOR A LOOP!". Remember, you wanna win your game the most efficient way possible, and cheesing with Morde and Urgot typically isn't the way to do that...Typically. ######Go get em champ. Having a larger roster also helps you out should your primary pick gets countered before you're up to choose. For example, you love playing Kassadin, but he enemy picks Zed. Do you, A.) Pick Kassadin anyway and possibly get completely shit stomped in lane because your passive and Q shield are next to worthless against him? or B.) Pick another champion whos odds are just a bit better. If you picked A, I respect your balls, but you're a fucking dodo. Of course anything within the realm of Murphy's Law can happen in Bronze,(and silver.) but do you really wanna tempt RNJesus? I typically always assume the enemy is better than me, and pick a safer bet. In my case, I'd pick Kayle so I can troll his death mark with my own ulti. If you've already been counter picked, see who the enemy top laner is and think about if your chances are better against them and ask if you could switch if so. If not, just play safe at your tower and ask for your jangler to come for that booty.

Three. Working in a team composition. This seriously becomes a big thing once you get higher. Again, anything within the realm of Murphy's Law is possible in Bronze, but its always better to play safe rather than, "You retarded noob." later. You should always be paying attention to what your team is picking and see if you can try to work with it, or see if you can get your team to work around your pick. Avoid stacking too much of one damage type as it becomes extremely easy to counter build. For example, I totally understand you might wanna play Talon mid lane, but your top lane is already Darius, jungle Lee, and you have Lucian ADC. Thats a lot of physical damage, champ. You know what counters physical damage and is in extremely high quantity of? Armor. item 3157 item 3742 item 3025 item 3143 item 3075 item 3110 You will be seeing some form of all of these on your enemy, especially the top laner and jungler if they're on the beefier side, as frosty fist and deadmans is core on so many juggernauts. So, what do you do when your allies have already dicked themselves with an entire team of physical damage? Try to work in a powerful magic damage dealer that's extremely hard to ignore, or a champion that deals a lot of mixed damage. The comp I have listed above is extremely all in, so picking a mixed/magic dealer that is also very all in would work well. (Lissandra. Vayne. Diana. Kayle. Morgana. for examples. )

$. Worrying about your own play, and working with your team. This part is going to reiterate a lot what I've already said. Don't worry about what your teammates are doing early game (If its completely out of your control). Worry about your lane, and your play. You can't control them, but you CAN control yourself. Come teamfights, you'll have a lot more control than you believe you do. During the laning phase your goal is to focus on last hitting , get ahead of your opponent, and maybe even snag yourself a kill, or forcing your opponent to back off and effectively deny them xps and gps. Using my Poppy play as an example. Typically, I will shit on any top laner I can come across(exceptions being Quinn, Darius, Malphite.) and if I don't, I can usually play defensive enough, warding correctly, and last hitting at my tower to avoid dying. Seriously. Don't fucking die. You can't carry your alleged moron teammates when you're spending 90% of your playtime dead. Dying is bad. It sets you behind and makes you miss minion waves and fun stuff that happens, like the enemy team taking Baron and steamrolling right down your mid lane for funsies. Diving the enemy at their tower and taking them and yourself down isn't #WURTH! It's #BRONZEAF. If the enemy is trying to back and you can't stop them without geting killed yourself, let them back. You just denied them gold and experience which puts them behind and you ahead. Git Gud. Dunt Dei. Once the laning phase is over and you're working to secure objectives, your team should be at least working together in a group of 3. 4 or 5 is always ideal, but this is bronze or even silver league we're talking about here, and everybody wants to just AFK farm even if this isn't the time to do so. As such, 4 is sufficient. Use your best judgement and what WONT get you, or your team killed. -Extra laning tips. Don't rely on other lanes. Something to keep in mind when laning is to pretend you don't have a jungler or any sort of roaming member of your team that is willing to help you. Don't play around a mindset you have someone who can help you or save you when things go bad. If you have your buddy pinging in to gank, work with them, but don't rely on them.

Roaming and playing super hero. If im playing top lane for example, I will almost always have TP, so I'll always be looking for a fight in another lane that isn't going so hot. If you happen to notice another lane has someone diving them, or shoving hard at the tower, try and show up if you can and pull some super hero shit. (MAP AWARENESS MOTHAFUCKAAAAAA!) I understand this is real tough to do as the ADC because you need to focus all your time on playing wack-a-mole so you can wack the enemy team later, so unless the enemies bot tower is down, just keep focusing on last hitting.

FIVE! Playing reactive. There is absolutely nothing wrong with letting the enemy make the first move. For example, In lane, you're getting pretty badly beaten up. The enemy is pressuring you hard back to your tower and you're at a disadvantage. This is your opportunity to play reactive. Continue to last hit as normal, avoiding skillshots as they come, and staying out of click shot and dash range, and wait for the enemy to get impatient. As you know, haste makes you turn into a disgusting bloody smear all over the walls. Kite, CC, keep them at your tower if applicable. This can be extended into team fighting, if you're playing an assassin or a marksman. Let the enemy use all their skills on your big dumb buddies and mop up. Ill go into more of this in the teamfighting segment.

Number SIX. Teamfite and getting your allies to follow up. Beef cakes in front, Squishy scary people in the back. This is where everything comes to a climax. Again, using my top lane Popples, I'll be looking for wall slams as much as possible and openings to make a jump on their scary guy for follow up. I'll also be looking for chances to play some Hot Shots Golf and sent their front line as far away from the fight as possible so we can kill their now exposed back line. In the reverse if we're at a disadvantage, play reactive. Hole in one their front lines when they come at you. Some pro plays, dive the enemy carry and ult the enemy front line from behind. Makes for some sick plays and one "Where the fuck did I just go now?" from the enemy team. For everybody else, pretty much the same deal, just not as descriptive. Theres no harm in letting the enemy team make the first move if you can turn it around. A scary mid laner can always pop behind enemy lines and delete the scary guys if they engage hard, the ADC can always kite the enemy front line away if your team didn't make any reactive moves, just keep yourself alive. On the flip side, if you can catch out an enemy squishy doing dumb things, capitalize on it, more often than not, your team will follow though. If you can't get your team to follow up, or they're in total pissy pants mode and willingly goes around to screw you over, that game was lost long before the nexus exploded.which leads us into...

Number 7. Losing and blaming. We all lose. Some more than others. There are going to be times when you are just simply unable to win a game. The enemy team will outplay you too hard, you make a bad decision and it snowballs backwards, whatever it is, you lost. When losing, DO NOT go around finger wagging. Pinning the blame on your teammates doesn't help the situation and only succeeds in making it even worse. We all get a little salty some times. Do not take it out on your team. Hit the leave lobby button when the game ends, go take a walk, go make some dinner, jerk off, something. Just get away from the game for a little while. If you hit that play again button, you're going to succeed in only screwing yourself over and losing again because you're pissed off and not playing at your 100%. Attitude is easily a third of the game. Once you start to get pissed off, your mind gets clouded with unnecessary frustration and it'll affect your play and you'll start making some idiotic plays and you might even start taking out on your teammates. Don't do that. If an ally happens to be a source of frustration, mute the puke. You'll find your time in game becomes 10 times more pleasant when the jerk off is silent. Don't try to retaliate against a jerky teammate either. In the end, nobody but the enemy team wins in that scenario and you just dragged 3 other people down because you had to win an argument on the internet. If you start to experience tilt in game, take a step back and try to identify the cause and what you can do to turn it around. Typically when tilted, its easier to just switch to playing reactive instead of trying to pick fights.

CONGRATULATIONS If you managed to read though this horrid cluster fuck of thoughts and poorly written tips, congratulations. You should by now, have the skills to at least carry yourself to silver. Maybe. At current, Season 6 is one fucked up season full of bad balancing choices, and really pissed off people. I understand that right now playing on the ladder isn't the most enjoyable thing in the world, but if you're making an honest attempt at it right now, try to stay cool and even headed. Anyway, thats all I got. Feel free to make fun of me about how low quality this is.

Stay classy Gameplay.
