How to Deal With Yasuo Top Lane

spri01·1/23/2018, 5:32:51 AM·3 votes·1,271 views

So I am a Silver 5 (I know, I'm shit) Top Lane player. I play Jax/Aatrox pretty much exclusively. I always seem to struggle with Yas more than almost anyone else though.

I rush Tabi's but still struggle. Any build advice or advice on how to play it?

Thanks!

Jax main here and i can 100% say you kick the shit out of yas. Q a w a and walk away. Do that a couple times and you win, it really is that easy. If you didnt know that then you need to look at bigger problems in game knowledge because that is about as simple as it gets

Tip: when your next wave is coming in move behind it before it gets there it eliminates alot of harass yasou could hit you with

Well, my first bit of advice would be to stop playing Aatrox. Like, in general. At the LEAST stop picking him into Yas tho.

As for Jax... you are at a disadvantage. Your counterstrike is easy to dash out of and he scales just as hard as you do, but quicker (thanks double crit... such bullshit). If you are DETERMINED to keep using these two champs top, I'd suggest simply banning Yasuo. If he gives you trouble, it's not a wasted ban.

If you utterly REFUSE to ban him or pick other champs into him... your best hope is to take teleport and focus ALL your attention on farming, scaling up and using tele to gank mid or bot often. Try to get other lanes ahead. It's STILL not ideal, since Jax needs to scale for lategame and he's often a splitpusher, but going into lane alone when the enemy top can 1v1 you means you can't really splitpush... but it's something!

Seriously tho, just ban him.

In order to really stretch out an advantage against a lane opponent and to keep pressure on them enough so that they cannot roam freely, you need to have really good minion wave management skills.

Check out these guides by SoloRenektonOnly on how to manage minion waves and gain gold and pressure advantages even over opponents who hard counter your champion.

Well, diversify your champion pool when you can obviously. As much as the Boards hates the idea of relying on counterpicking, it's seriously a deciding factor for Top Lane.

Rely on Aatrox more. Try to duel him away from minions. When it comes to short trades and closing small gaps, Yasuo wins, but Aatrox will beat him in longer trades/duels so as long as you don't give Yasuo free control of the lane, you got this.

I don't play aatrox, but as a Jax main here's some advice to beat him:

-Fight him when he doesn't have your minions to dash through (or when it would be a bad idea for him to do so, dashing under your turret for example) -Break his passive shield with your W or an AA when possible (if he gets close enough to you to last hit that you can W/AA him) -After 6 you can easily beat him with 2 AA on a minion + Q + W, repeat until he gets low enough to all in -As Jax your E will NOT dodge his Q damage, don't get baited into this -Try to save your E for when you're sure you can hit him with it, or to activate before his ultimate hits you -If he misses his tornado he'll need to Q something twice to get it back up, so punish him during this time -Try to move unpredictably when last hitting minions, so he cant land free Qs on you -Max your E next after W, save Q for last -Consider taking summoner 14 or summoner 3 to help you win the lane

**For build advice (since you asked specifically for that): ** -Early item 3047 is fine, good choice vs yasuo -item 3057 first if you're winning lane, item 3044 first if you're behind -You can beat him after you finish item 3078 (assuming he's not an item up on you or anything) -You can grab item 3153 or item 3146 for the slow active and sustain to easily duel him -You shouldn't need to, but if you're REALLY having a hard time vs him try going item 3143 as well as item 3047, this will neuter his damage (as well as enemy adc)

If you do several (or all) of these things, you shouldn't have any problem beating silver Yasuos on Jax

Good luck!

Also dont stay near your minions basically surrender the lane to him and hope to get something under your tower call for a gank yasuo's always tend to push hard easy LP for u
