thornmail needs a change

as of now, thornmail forces adcs to get lifesteal, and when they do, tanks feel like their thornmail is practically doing nothing. And it has to be kept that way for the same reason champions with binary kit are kept weak looking at garen

can something similar to dis be done to thornmail?

ACTIVE: for next 1.5 seconds, the first 3 enemy champion basic attacks on the user will inflict current thornmail passive damage and grievous wounds on the enemy champions lasting for 2 seconds. Repeated attacks from same champion will result in 2 additional seconds of grievous wound, capped at 5 seconds. (8 second cd)

of course, the numbers are definitely not fine, but the point is to make it more than just binary.

From adc's perspective, this gives them a way to counterplay it without having to rely on lifesteal to offset thornmail's passive. in 1vs1 situations, 1.5 seconds which is also the duration of sivir's spellshield is something that can definitely be waited out for counterplay in adc's perspective. In teamfights, 3 enemy champion basic attacks can be done by others that do not make use of healing.

From juggernaut/bruiser/diver tank's perspective, giving it an item active would make them feel like they have more control ~~~~ over fight outcomes; tanks are usually limited to making good engages and nothing too fun happens after that. In addition there are item 3123 for AD and item 3165 for AP, but we do not have grievous wound for tanks; it would fulfill that niche to some degree as well.

Tried to make a poll asking opinion:

  1. change is needed
  2. good concept, bad numbers
  3. needs change but this is nowhere near the solution
  4. it's fine as it is
  5. revert malzahar rework
  6. uninstall
