Troubles playing against Xerath

Is it just me or is it really difficult to avoid Xerath's abilities? I've found it next to impossible to dodge anything Xerath throws at me. It also seems like the lines that show where its going to be are off a bit. It feels like I get hit though I'm outside the indicator. Just wanted opinions on how to play against Xerath. I've had problems playing against him since he came out and would like some help with dealing with him.

Xerath is really weak against champs with range to fight back (Lux) or champs with dashes to dodge skillshots (Leblanc).

If you are not a ranged or mobile champ, then you'll have a hard time. His Q indicator is pretty bs, plenty of times where I land a Q where I shouldn't have, it's just part of the game and you have to deal with it.

But, his greatest weaknesses are against ranged mages and assassins. Since assassins tend to have mobility.

A good Xerath will generally hit probably every w and most of his q's. Mostly you need to sidestep, especially his e which as a xerath player I'm still bat at hitting somtimes and his ult, which is easily avoided with any sort of dash/blink, and pretty easily "juked" as the "juking" is just running around in random directions as you gain vision of his circle and he has no idea where you are with his tiny bit of vision. Yeah he can be hard to lane against sometimes (though i more often play as him) mostly you need dashes I guess or goo sidestepping, also he is very vulnerable up close even though he will hit his stun it's very short.

As a Xerath player, I try aim my W so that I get to hit you and some minions; two birds and one stone. It's easy to evade the epicenter, but I can whittle you down if you keep taking unnecessary hits from the blast. If you stand out in the open, I'm less tempted to use my W, but I might risk my E. When it comes to the Q, I've learned to spin a little bit so where I'm aiming isn't obvious; but you should know I'm aiming toward you.
