Too troll for non-troll plebs.
top. Very effective against melees. Gets raged at in chat.
mid. Very effective against fellow squishy mages. Gets raged at in chat.
ADC. I admit I did this once because the team decided they wanted two supports and no ADC. Surprisingly very effective. Gets raged at in chat (even though I wasn't the troll autolocker support who thrust me into that position).
I'm tempted to do jungle at some point just because I probably can if I got creative enough.
edit: basically any time I choose Sona in a role that isn't support, I get raged at and called a troll.
uhh urgot support and jungle.. -15% dmg from the enemy line is a great invis utility that no one ever seems to understand. Plus, the -15% makes him a pretty safe jungler, I can even lvl 2 dragon with him.
Anti AD 
. Everyone only knows him as Anti AP, but when you build him with AP, Armor (Thornmail) and MR Pen the game becomes surreal.
The ADC attacks you, but their health bar goes down, while yours goes up.
But explain to your team how you pick Galio into an all AD opponent...
Master Yi mid.
It's fun to abuse the fact that a well timed Alpha Strike can totally negate burst AND get me on top of the enemy, since Wuju Style and Double Strike make Yi infinitely stronger in an auto attack duel against most mid lane enemies.
Also, rather recently, I've been messing around with Movement Speed Nunu.
Max CDR, buy a shitton of movement speed, and build some tankiness to handle enemies I know I can't run away from (say, Frozen Heart against Vi). I am now an uncatchable and damn near unkillable objective god.
got me to diamond two seasons in a row. Never had a game where people didn't complain about it in champ select.

Lanes well vs anything, Bullies Irelia in lane from 1 on, global pushing pressure ( which is paying out a ton now that tanky deathballs are starting to trend and splitpushing is down. )
Can build literally anything and still have a productive build path.
