Legends of Runeterra has destroyed my friends faith in this company beyond recognition. While he was upset with the balance team in their base game, he was excited that a Hearthstone style game was in development. When the game went to open beta, he immediately hopped in and started to grind his account out. It turns out that all of his grinding was being done on the EU server, curious about this, he contacted support and asked if they could transfer his account to NA. After days of getting a single response from the Support team they finally informed him that the transfer went through and it should take a few days to process. After thanking the Rioter for helping him he received this from someone completely different. https://i.imgur.com/pmjUZE1.png This was when he found out he would be losing all of his progress, vaults, purchases, everything he had got on the EU account. They claimed they were going to refund his coins but didn't even give him the full amount. This is gross negligence and theft honestly and the fact that the Support Team is more worried about the flare of their responses than remedying a situation which has effected so many players already is even more appalling. Good luck, I hope you find a way to re-ignite my friends love for your company.

Why are there region locks anyway?

Regions have no business being in a card game between two people who can only communicate by spamming those silly animated emojis. Hope they do away with that ASAP, with it only being a beta thing.

If your friend wants to go further with this he needs to do 2 things

Send again to Riot support team and wait for their response. They might help if something went wrong with the refunds, you never know. If then problem is not solved that way, then
Go Legaly. He should go have a talk with the bank he used to make the purchases. He will explain the situation and the fact that he was not informed on which region he was placed at and upon asking to transfer to his local region, he did not receive the money he had spent into the game back. The bank will simply request the refunds to be added directly into the bank account and the problem will be solved. If that does not work (which is rather unlikely) the next step would be to talk with a lawyer but that is a tad too extreme

What's dumb is that you don't even get a say in which region you get slapped in. My friend only plays with NA people but they're stuck in EU. Their league account is in the NA region. I have no clue why they were randomly transferred to EU.

Tell you friend to go back to Hearthstone. LoR isn't even that good. Not worth the effort. I mean, yeah, it is ok, but there are some mechanics that don't have any counters and that kinda pisses me off. You are forced to play them because you can't counter them, so in your deck you should have at least several of those cards (don't remember the name tho).
