Need Help With Playing Thresh

I've always considered myself a pretty good Thresh, but I've recently decided to try my luck with ranked. So far I've noticed if I have a good adc I can set up plays all day and just demolish lane, leading to the enemy bot lane being useless and my adc and I go on to carry the match. However, if I have an adc that always wants to play safe, what happens is eventually one of us makes a mistake and gets caught out. I land my hooks and flay the best I can (like flay leona out of her gap closer), but i just never have enough hp to survive. Thresh's recommended items seem so dumb to me. I've seen a couple matches where my adc has more hp than me..his recommended items are all armor and magic resist. I have lvl 7, so I've tried out a bunch of stuff, but I still can't find a solid build for when I'm behind. Anyway, I'd like to know some good Thresh builds as well as how to deal with an adc that just gets poked to death and plays waaaaaay too passive. Also what percentage of games do you guys believe are "unwinnable"? Because I watch some of my replays and I'm like "yeah i could have played that better...Buuuut if the warwick wasn't 5/0 he probably wouldnt have been able to turret dive me".

Thresh is a very ofensive snowballing support with some fall back viability, but you should communicate your playstyle with your ADC in champ select if you rely too much on them. Depending on your elo, your temamates don't necessarily know how Thresh plays out in lane and are unsure how to follow up on him. Or they just prefere to play the farm game - in that case your Thresh pick isn't that fitting like most other catchers.

Can't say much about reccomended items because I have my own item set for supports with all possible items just sorted in categories.

Thresh isn't always the best support. If an ADC likes to be safe, that's fine, but Thresh is ideal for setting up plays for teammates that want to start the fight. He has good peel and even a helpful shield regardless, but remember that some ADC's just can't play too aggressive too early.

As for his items, Thresh, though not a true off-tank, still wants to be tanky since his E and ult want him to be in close, and his Q can even let him dive right into those fights. So like any tanky supports, things like Amulet and Knight's vow are his ideal items, with everything else being based on situation (Frozen Heart if they're auto attack heavy). He's played for his utility and peel, and you want him to stay alive long enough to do that. Look at your match history (laughed at that 13 minute game), you seem to be building proper items. Maybe try building mobility boots more often though.

One important tip though: Ban Tahm Kench. The River King counters him. HARD. No idea if you already do, but trust me on this if you don't.

Thresh got nerfed hard when riot nerfed thornmail, it was my plan on him, get infin arm, do infin dmg, I actually won several 1v4s when the ap was taken out. I use to get, thornmail, randuins, suncape, deadmans. Spirit visage need buff to inculde shields to work for non naturally healing tanks, which leaves only 3 viable hp mr items, maw of malmortus(counting shield an has ad), abysal mask, adaptive helm. mercurial scimitar, wits end, are a good secondary choice because of their ad.

if u want him for how he is currently, build 1 hp armor/resist per their dmg (2 ad, 2 ap, then 2 armor,2 mr,3 ad 1ap then 3 arm,1 mr). remember her gets mass bonus on aa from ad when he doesn't atk often, so if need dmg get ad, like black cleaver which is hp, ad, cd. test guinsoo, hurricane works, test hextech gunblade it might heal from e pass dmg an u can then use ur infin ap , go look on wikia.
