Teemo - Where's the love?

Hey everyone :) First time using these boards! Woohoo!

I'd just like to take the time and ask where you guys see Teemo headed in the future? He hasn't been included in any patches recently, and has been on the backburner since the whole "minefield" incident. I don't know if you consider Lolking accurate or not, but since it is the only source players have to use for statistics, I'm going to go ahead and use it anyways :p

Teemo currently has a little below average popularity and a little more than average win rate. If you were to ask me, I would say he is quickly becoming a niche champion. He doesn't really have any hard counters anymore- all of his past ones have been nerfed (Mwahahah!), but he doesn't really stand out, and has a stigma floating over him because of "annoying" nature. I believe that his ultimate is counter productive for the games goal and direction. You are supposed to be working as a team and focusing objectives alongside them, but how are you supposed to do that when you're also supposed to cover the map with shrooms? Which is why I believe it is a common strategy for Teemo to split push. He pretty much goes off and does his own thing, and has gotten a negative rep for it.

Because he hasn't been included in like the past 4-5 patches, I was wondering how you currently feel about the little guy. Do you think he's in a solid place and won't be touching him at all? I would personally disagree, in order to be effective he has to go pretty much glass cannon, which is again, counter productive to his abilities, which revolve around short range attacks.

Thanks very much!

Being taxedermized or turned into a dashing coat.

I would say he is quickly becoming a niche champion.

There's no becoming. Teemo is very niche, and the landscape of the game isn't making him suddenly more niche.

he doesn't really stand out

Command him to move. He can do more than just be a ward ;)

has a stigma floating over him because of "annoying" nature.

Because he is?

Most champions in LoL are all about the power fantasy. You get items and levels and overpower your enemies.

Teemo is all about the stealth fantasy. He's weaker and more frail than his opponents, but beats them through cunning and outsmarting them. Baiting them into minefields, pew-pewing them from range, ambushing them from stealth, watching their movements accross the map, zonning them away from objectives, slowly poking them to death, doing DoT things.

Basically using every underhanded trick in the book.

It certainly has it's appeal, especially for players that like the David vs. Goliath feel, but's it's exceptionally annoying to fight against.

First, Teemo's niche end-game is specifically the massive level of objective control he provides. His team can 5-man push turrets while insuring the enemy team is dropped to half-health if they even consider checking Baron or Dragon. They're basically like another champion if he grabs enough damage, another champion that can play sentry on important geographic locations.

Secondly, every top lane champion ever can split push. Fighters in general are amazing duelists and lackluster team-fighters, which causes forcing 1v1 situations and the enemy team to split up to often be the most advantageous thing they can do for their team. Assassins can play that game to, also lackluster team-fighters and solid duelists in just about every case.

Using teamwork isn't about being a ball of death, you can throw in different rolls like "Striker" "Defender" "Sweeper" and "Goalie" to have a solid feel of teamwork. LoL shouldn't be limited to Kindergarten Soccer strats IMO.

I was wondering how you currently feel about the little guy.

He's 100% to annoying.

Love? Teemo? There is nothing in that furball but hate. Lots and lots of hate.

Honestly I feel Teemo is in a good spot right now. He's a little too immobile to be a meta pick, but as with most immobile champions all it takes to get him working in the current state of league is a little persistence.

To me he feels like his positioning is one of a kind. He needs to show up to the sight of a battle before it actually takes place and prepare everything for his team. On top of that he potentially has a huge amount of burst when catching someone off guard. I don't play him often, but I typically push the top tower down and then set up camp in the enemy jungle. I'll return to lane to push again, but once the minions favor me I'm back to that jungle.

I like him actually. I feel he is versatile and niche.

He can pinch hit as a marksman, but suffers in teamfights. He has free vision for days which is beautiful.

the big reason he doesnt see play though is... He isn't durable and yet he usually goes top. You could have had a tank, or at least a tanky fighter. Instead you picked teemo.

Course I like playing him as a bot lane marksman for his dragon control and blind. You just need an AD mid laner and preferrably a support with a heal. New Soraka would be great. Silence + Blind = Screwed.

Course thats just my opinion. And im silver:P
