Did riot do a good job at balancing champions?
I'm probably just bad but personally, I always feel like a character who requires skill should be out performing a character who doesn't require as much skill. But if I could change the game, I would make all champions require skill so it will be more fair and would reward skilled players over bad ones.
Anyway, I know a lot of people will say x champion requires skill and is really strong. But that is not the point of this post. What I am talking about specifically is things like an ezreal or nidalee who requires skill to play, must aim skill shots, yet they have no hard cc and their damage only tickles characters like garen or nasus who require a lot less skill to play. Yet garen and nasus will out damage an ezreal or nidalee in a straight up fight. The only real way an ezreal or nidalee will win is if the nasus or garen are stupid and stand there getting pelted by q all day. These are just small examples but there are plenty of examples of champions who require skill getting out performed by champions who require less skill or specialization.
It just makes no sense to me why a champion like ezreal and nidalee have zero cc and not enough damage to kill a champ at around half hp unless that person is dumb and stands there and lets you combo them, yet you got champs like garen and nasus who require no skillshot aiming and just smashes your face in. So not only do your hits tickle them, but they hit harder than you too.
Let's pretend garen is a 1 attack 2 hp champion right? And ezreal is a 2 attack 1 hp champion right? That might seem more fair. But in league of legends, it feels more like garen is a 3 attack 3 hp champion, ezreal is a 2 attack 1 hp champion. So ezreal's hits arent strong enough to kill garen in one hit, but will die to garen in one strike. As you can see, the balance is really not fair at all.
You might argue, oh but ezreal has ranged. Well realistically, there's only so much kiting you can do before garen reaches you. If you don't keep attacking garen, he will just sit back and regen with passive while you are low on hp or mana while fighting him. This game isn't aged well. Wake up and understand that this isn't season 1 anymore. Champions have a ton of cc and mobility now so ranged alone isn't that powerful anymore. It doesn't really justify champions to be so squishy, immobile, lacking cc, lacking burst damage because they have ranged autos. Who cares about ranged autos when yi can just press r q right click and you are dead. He doesnt even have to e or w.
Also, why the hell is pyke even fair? He has grey health that basically negates a lot of damage sustained during trades. You can't poke him down so he just becomes an obnoxious guy walking in your face all day trying to hook. If he lands hook you lose half hp or die, if he misses, well no reprocussions because if you poke him he will only take about 20-30 percent of the damage you dealt because he will heal a large portion of his grey health back. Also, you have to be afraid of his double cc and ult bs that is splash true damage execute with a reset. Wow are you actually listening? Splash true damage execute. What the actual. How is that even fair? Oh yeah, and he gives gold to him and his team who helped ALONG with the gold he already got from killing the enemy. Yeah, you got 300g from enemy? well here's another 3 digits of gold for you and your teammate. Yeah, fair.
those shits exist in league, it will never be balanced. Riot made this game unfun to play.
