Me and a few friends were trying to start a rank team and get a placement first time was gold+ ppl and one silver but we are all bronze team in solo/duo que. I dont understand why the ques place us against gold+ ppl when the whole team was bronze solo. I also understand that it is random but they can atleast place us close like silver or bronze pp. If someone understands can you tell me why that we where against gold+ ppl.

P.S. I dont care if ull talk about my English typing

The point of placements is to determine where you fall in terms of skill, in this case as a team. The idea is to that you were pit a team with a certain mmr. If you win, you go against a team with a better mmr, if you lose then you go against a team with worse mmr. In this case, your first game was against gold+ players. If you lost this, then your next game will be against a team with lower mmr than that.

A few things to keep note of:

Unlike SoloQ, you only have 5 games to place as opposed to 10. Due to this, the mmr gain/loss may be more drastic
While they're generally similar, your Solo Q Ranked mmr and Ranked 5s mmr are different values. It's possible to have a team of Gold+ Solo Q players with a Silver-ish Ranked 5s mmr.
