Support item issues and change suggestions for riot
I think riot has been doing a good job overall so far with the tuning of the support items since the midseason change. But there are still some issues with the items that some existed before the update with no change and some that were more recently brought about from the changes since.
The first one is the stats offered from face of the mountain and eye of the equinox. EotE is flat out the superior option between the 2, offering a better gold value in base stats and better gold efficiency. The value of the actives in the items is harder to properly compare when EotE is so unquestionably superior. Something smaller that is for all the relic shield line of items is that although it does it's job of helping tanky support survive well enough, these champs also need some help with their mana management.
Another issue is that for enchanters, is that at the initial midseason release there was a meaningful choice between going for the spellthief line and the coin line, but the recent change to athene's made it solidly that the spellthief line is the flat out best option. Now in my interpretation I assumed that the coin changes were geared more heavily towards the enchanter supports. This doesn't work out so well since the stats it offers objectively aren't very appealing for enchanters. These 2 item lines need to have much more distinct separate appeal for enchanters and APC supports respectively. Along side that the stats for all support lines of items need to be tuned to offer much equal value comparatively between them.

These are retuned in a similar fashion AP items were for the midlane mage update. Replacing all the mana regen with flat mana. It will likely hurt the champs that build it in the very early game since they will have to be much more careful with their mana, but the frostfang improved spike plus slight cost increase should compensate that a bit overall.

There is a drastically decreased discrepancy in the total stat values of the FotM and EotE so you would have to choose more carefully instead of having one that is the obvious superior option. Similar to the spelltheif line the tier 2 item has a greater spike and slightly increased compensation cost. The tier one item should allow tanky support to survive lane much better since they will have health regen outside of the passive. On a similar not for the passive I think that the minion kill should offer a mana return similar or equal to the health returned to the support so that they have some field of mana management for the lane phase and beyond.

These changes make a much clearer unique niche for what the coin line offers compared tot he other support item lines. Also it is built up in a way that it is much more appealing to enchanters in line with the rest of the items that they build. This line offers champs that would build this the option to bypass the need to by tier 2 boots, and still offering stats that make sense with talisman's active. Also there is a better aligned synergy with athene's, and the other forbidden idol items. For the favor passive I would suggest retuning it so any coin will give gold but half the current live value and instead keep the blue coin's mana return and switch the gold coin with a green one and make it a health return.
