Hey guys I always ask these questions when I reach near 6300 IP lol. I recently picked up the role ADC and I think I'm doing pretty decent, especially with Caitlyn and Miss Fortune. But I've heard that Miss Fortune is one of the weakest ADC's right now but idk why? I have in mind Jinx or Graves but I'm open to other suggestions. I'm not sure what the meta is right now lol.
The "weakest" is Varus, but that is because he has no escapes, but all ADCs, besides Urgot are viable.
ADC meta is pretty wide right now. You can play almost anything and do well. Certainly Cait and MF are working just fine, don't let people scare you off playing champions you like.
Probably the best picks today are mobile bursty ADCs like Corki and Graves. We currently don't have many strong tanks in the game, so tank shredders like Kog and Vayne aren't so interesting.
The unique thing about ADCs is that they are all so similar that they're all viable. Urgot, being the most dissimilar, obviously doesn't count. Jinx is popular because of her incredibly strong mid game, the same reason MF is popular. . She has snipe potential, hard cc, wave clear that scales with AD, and splitpushing potential galore. It's a quite effective package. Graves is popular for the same reason, his dueling potential from his passive is unmatched, excellent wave clear, an escape, and a slow. His AD scaling are also very good. Personally I find his long attack animation a bit of a hindrance, which is why I prefer Jinx.
Basically, it's not that MF or Varus isn't good. They are designed to thrive in this meta and can. It's that she's outclassed by champions that do what she does better, as well as doing other things too. I mained MF before Jinx. It took a bit of an adjustment period, but MY GOD is the difference clear as day now.
Also Corki. Corki is very strong right now.

Graves is very good. His W is great cc.
Jinx is actually hella good (she always has been). She is the goddess of tower pushing and it's what she excels in. Her passive is extremely useful in escaping too!
