Duo Ranked Matchmaking
This post is in regards to duoing together in Ranked Games. I believe there needs to be a limit on how different your MMR or division is to duo together as it is a lot of times unfair to the other members on the team.
While finishing my promos for Silver 3 yesterday, I was put into a team that included someone from Bronze 3. I am usually very hesitant to dodge games (and I was in my promos so it is an automatic loss anyways) and try to give people the benefit of the doubt. The person did pretty well in the beginning (got first blood), but you could tell that towards the end of the game, their experience was at a loss (IE not warding, getting caught out, not building properly for the other team) and we ended up losing the game (not necessarily because of that person alone, I understand it is a team game). This post is not about bashing on this person but instead to show that the duo queue possibilities are flawed. The only reason this person was in my game was because someone from Silver 1 was duoing with them and their combined MMR was roughly equal to mine. I think it is completely unfair that duo queue is allowed to do that. I honestly believe there needs to be a limit on how much difference there is in MMR before you can go into ranked matchmaking together. If you are in Diamond and have a buddy that is in Bronze and want to duo together to ELO boost them its completely unfair to the other people on the team, because chances are that person does not have near enough experience to be playing with the higher tiers that you will be matched with. I know the system matches people up according to team MMR but a lot of times just 1 person is enough to cause you to lose a game. Again I am not trying to bash on any one player (heck everyone was actually pretty nice that game and tried to give them some advice on what to build). This post is just to try and start a discussion on altering the duo queue possibilities to make it only possible to queue up together if you are within a certain MMR or division of each other. I believe that it would keep the matchmaking process fair for everyone else. Let me know what you guys think.
