Professional Play?

How would one go about doing more than just ranked? Currently p1, just waiting for the RNG teams to kick in since I'm not a solo-carry, I'm a team-binder. I excel at those LCS Gnar 5 man ults over the wall for baron and end. In a hypothetical situation where I could get D1+, how would I go about doing more than just Ranked? Like finding other good players and making a team? There is such a small playerbase in D1+ that I'm assuming it'd be hard to find people of equal or greater skill. I still have much to learn if I can get Diamond and vs people who are actually good at the game, but hypothetically, how would I go around doing this?
