League of Legends Items are Boring

Hello, my name is Dylan and my League of Legends username is HellaDy1an. I am a Silver 4 player, but I do not play very much competitive. I would like to preface this post with that, as I am very open to the idea that I am just being incompetent or uninformed about what I am trying to get across. I play League religiously, usually being the only game I play, reigniting my love for the game in patch 9.12 and sticking around ever since, but also having played prior.

I get so emotional about this game that I love, and I wish I didn't have to say that the items in this game are in desperate need of some help. Why are the majority of ADC's built the same way? I know they have the same concept, powerful auto attacks and attack speed, maybe it's just me, but building the same crit items, then Bloodthirster and Berserker's Greaves gets old. I am jumping around a little bit but I promise things will begin to get a little more cohesive in due time.

Starting Items in Lane

When I start a fresh match of League of Legends (and not playing SUP or JNG) , I am either going to buy Doran's Blade, Doran's Shield, Doran's Ring, Dark Seal, Health Potions and/or Refillable. After writing this out, I feel like this is a solid amount of items, but what about Cull? It's really hard for me to articulate what I would like changed, but I just feel as if this isn't enough. Maybe an item better suited for characters like Akali or Azir, who thrive off of AP, AD, and Attack Speed. I mean, would a 450 starting item that gave a boost to attack speed be that overpowered? Like I said, I may be very naive, and I would love to hear as many opinions as possible, as I'd like to be educated in this stuff. I also think a Dark Seal for AD champions would be a little more fair, but I think Dark Seal is there for the hard mana costs that mages have to deal with.

Support Items

I do not play a lot of support, but Ancient Coin, Relic Shield, and Spellthief's Edge are at the core of the role. I have been browsing the items and don't understand why something like Doran's Lost Idol wouldn't fit into a support role for someone like Ivern, Morgana, Lux, Lulu, and Thresh. I would just love a little more variety in the role because picking from such basic items seems like it can get old, at least it did for me. I think that an item that provided a small amount of CDR or maybe Attack Speed again. I also don't personally understand why items like Guardian's Orb, Hammer, and Horn are locked away in ARAM when they would be perfectly fine if made a little more enticing to be a first back item. At least it would mix things up just a little bit in such a strict item set.

3v3 Items / Old Gamemode Items

I think there are a lot of items that could be changed slightly and added into SR to add a lot more outplay potential and excitement to a game and push away from the same roles building the same thing every single game. Items like Moonflair Spellblade, with tweaks, is a perfectly fine items for tanks! The item that got me in such a fit is Spectral Cutlass and how much fun could be had with its inclusion into the main game. Wooglet's Witchcap, Zephyr (which is in team fight tactics btw.), and Innervating Locket could add something to the game to make it a little less convoluted. I think more active items could make the game more interesting all around! Maybe there could be an item building into Guardian Angel that's a one time active revive similar to stopwatch, though it'd have to be a little more expensive, haha.

In conclusion, I feel like there are so many underused items in the game (Hextech GLP-800, Mercurial Scimitar, and Stormrazor.) and varying things up a bit might help the life of League in the long run! I really hope discussion forms and I can receive some critique on my views. Thanks for reading!
