The truth behind conqueror
Let’s use an example:
While conqueror is active, renekton deals 2000 damage to a tank.
On average, tanks reach up to 300 armor.
Conqueror grants 8 percent true damage while active.
160 damage is guaranteed to punch through.
That other 1840 damage however can be blocked by armor.
With 300 armor, a tank will ignore 75% of all damage.
As such 1380 damage has been mitigated.
In total, with conqueror, with his entire kill combo, renekton has dealt 620 damage to the tank.
Conqueror also heals for 8 percent of the damage you deal.
Through all of this, renekton has healed for 49.6 hp with conqueror.
But let’s take it a step further and say that they built a Thornmail.
Grevious wounds reduces healing by 40%
So now he’s actually only healed for 19.84 hp.
And then he looks back at the tank and sees 4000 hp.
Even with black cleaver fully stacked and ignoring 24 percent more armor, the tank is still reducing all damage by 70 percent.
This means at best, renekton is able to deal 712 damage with his kill combo and heal for 56.96.
While tanks are without a doubt struggling, to say that bruisers are the one and only cause of this is simply untrue. Damage across the board is too high, leaving tanks in a rough and awkward spot. League should see extensive nerfs to damage across the board, and tanks should be adjusted accordingly.
