Why does it take me 3 wins in a row to get 55 LP, but one loss costs me 22 LP?

I'm in Diamond V.

What the fuck? My MMR is good, I keep winning with decent KDAs, but one loss cost me 22 LP?

What is this bullshit?

MMR is important.

If LP gains were too high, everyone would be higher than they're supposed to be :/ Besides, you're diamond. The climb is even more difficult, isn't it? O.o

Your MMR is catching up. trust me this issue used to be way worse, whenever you were in bronze/silver/whatever 1 you used to get anywhere from 1-5 lp. now that they normalized it, this only happens when you're way ahead of your ranked MMR, usually from winning too much too fast. Just keep winning games and your MMR will catch up eventually.

I believe I heard they fixed/improved the Diamond clamping. If you are getting low LP gains and huge losses, then your MMR is actually low regardless of what the third party websites say; they do not have your real MMR, and the average and your own fluctuates constantly.

Really how much LP you win/lose is your only accurate insight into your mmr; if it's even, your rank matches your mmr. If you gain more than you lose, your rank is lower than your mmr, and vice-versa. 3rd parties estimate your mmr based on your match history and how it compares to everyone else's. It's not always accurate and, as others have said, changes will be reflected in your LP gains/losses before those 3rd party websites.
