Is it always a good thing to follow what your team says?

Just got in a game where I played ignite garen against darius, the reason why I brought ignite was to duel the darius. Darius had flash and tp, meaning he would be earlier to teamfights than me. So my team wanted to fight for an infernal drake, but Darius was splitting top. They wanted me to come and tank for them so they can secure the infernal drake safely. I told them "I have to stop darius", in which they kept telling me to come and help them. I defend the tier 2 turret and stopped darius from tp'ing, but they either overstayed or got collapsed on when they tried getting back to safety. They all died, and blamed me. Yes I know deaths may have been prevented, but Darius would still have tp'ed possibly from a flank position and killed us. Or maybe he would've split and gotten the inhib or inhib turret.

They then said that they can't win if they have this type of Garen on their team. So they surrendered 4 votes yes and 1 vote against (that was me)

Is following your teammates the best course of action so it doesn't look like you want to disagree with them?

Honestly it was your call. At the end of the day you lived and stopped them from getting more gold. Your team forced the objective and gave them gold for it. They should have backed off or did it differently. You did no wrong.

I tend to listen to team mates who give good advice or calls. But first and foremost I listen to myself. I know my champ. I know what I can and cannot do.

You did the right thing imo. Since Darius a good tp and apprehend from Darius and your team would die, while you're on your way to a lost fight. Trying to prevent him is better by creating pressure. And your team should have pressure before doing drake in the first place. Your team dying in a 4v4 is not your fault
