Is something being done to fix the miserable state of the reconnect system?

I live in a house in a place where, at any given time, the Internet service provider can choose to turn of the Internet for the lols or someone will unplug the router because they turned the Internet on their phone/computer/tablet off. Given all of this, I find myself disconnecting from a game briefly in around 15% of my games. This small number isn't enough to make me quit playing League, but it gets really frustrating having to take an extra 5 minutes to reconnect to the game after just being disconnected for 30 seconds because 9/10 times, I will have to click escape to exit the game, wait 5 seconds, have the game take 2 minutes to disconnect, and another 2 to 3 minutes to reconnect, only to get a message that I might be punished for prolonged inactivity. There is only a slight off chance that the game instantly reconnects when my computer reconnects to the Internet, which would ideally happen all of the time.

Is anyone working to fix this, or do thousands of other players and I have to continue waiting just to reconnect?
