Observations of the new queue system from a player that hasn't played since last November.
So, just got back into LoL after not playing since last November. After playing something like 30ish ranked games i came to a few conclusions. First, the new matchmaking process seems much faster (i've actually missed char select a few times while alt+tabbing). Secondly, the new role preference system is pretty neat. My only complaint is that queuing support secondary will mean you queue as support 90% of the time w/in just a few seconds. My recommendation to fix this would be to have the matchmaking system attempt to find your primary pick for the first few minutes (or tie it to the estimated wait time), and then and only then would it try to match your secondary pick
