Ahri isn't an assassin anymore

Could you clarify this for me Riot? In the patch notes, Riot stated they're changing the identity of Ahri, because she wasn't intended to be an assassin that blows up squishes. Thats perfectly fair.

My beef is this. Ahri's identity has been changed so she's no longer an assassin. Now instead of an assassin she is.... something? We were never told what this new identity for Ahri is, and frankly we're not sure what she is at this point other than useless.

My advice, if you're going to change the identity of a champion, then you need to have a new identity ready and waiting for them to inherit. Furthermore, you need to communicate with your consumers what this new identity is. We have no idea what your vision for Ahri is right now, or for the future

She was made as a kite mage, then changed to assassin, now they're changing her back, at least attempting to.

Kite-mage, you build item 3116 item 3100 item 3140 and item 3257 , you end up super hard to catch while still being able to dish out the damages. The build might vary but item 3116 seems pretty core.

She is no different then she was for years before they made the charm have the damage amplification. She is now back to being a kite mage whereas before the charm amplification addition she was primarily a kite mage with the ability to go the assassin route since dfg was in the game.

People react like Ahri always had the charm damage amp.

Oh really? And then that moment you realize they're thinking of changing Rylai's. Granted this isn't official yet.

"Item Changes Rylai's Crystal Scepter No longer grants health No longer slows enemy champions Now gives *% movement speed"

(Also, lols at building lichbane on Ahri. Like seriously? Look out for her auto attacks!)

That's what they were going for. To make her feel like less of an assassin and more like an actual mage, or kite mage? The damage amplification from charm along with DFG encouraged players to play her more like an assassin than what she was supposed to be played, as a mage, or kite mage. The move speed from the Q encourages others to play her more like this... kite mage.
