Runes Reforged: some toughts/ideas/considerations * r/leagueoflegends

I am carefully thinking about the new system On paper it feels great: customization, playstyle, personalization, off meta or different builds becoming viable. You wanna play bruiser vayne? Seems cool! Jhin mid? Yes. Braum jungler? But also: kogh is about attack speed, how can i maximize that? Now there is lethal tempo! Perfect. So what are runes reforged for? They bring freshness, variety, imagination and enhance strenghts or weaknesses. Seems good, on paper, i repeat. Considerations, personal and subjective of course. Runes reforged are (FOR NOW) not enough. Suppose you are a support, take zombie ward right? But to do that you have to take domination. Andweeell... Better not on a support. Also let's see the predator rune, is it worth to be a keystone? Except for hecarim (and it's a maybe anyway) who would benefit from that? I mean if there was no alternative ok, but practically everyone would take one of the other 2. Riot has problems towards support right? And then why do we have 3 offensive paths and 1 tank and 1 utility. At least 2 and 2 (i know they said they could add more, i know) Here, let's be a tank. Determination as primary ok? It's like tank supports full tanks and juggernauts are fused all here. Keystone offers differentiation, but major and minor runes are prqctically mandatory depending on your ROLE and not PLAYSTYLE. Also why revitalize is here, i don't get it. The only tank champion that could benefit is alistar (and maybe thresh and braum? (Dunnow if it works actually)) So here is a flaw: you tank? Determination. You top? Full tank easy to go You support? It's all ready for you. Nothing different. Inspiration has potential but some stuff is meh. You can "hack" stuff, but in the end it's about consumables and items, only pro/experienced players will really benefit. Nothing is permanent (almost) And raw power goes off. Also. Off meta will remain probably off meta, and different playstyle is not too much encouraged. Suggestions and ideas Utility/inspiration Hextech Hacker (i am sure someone has proposed this so it's a COPIED IDEA): hextech items have separated cooldowns. Frosty ultimate: the area of your ultimate slows enemies in it (imagine it on galio thresh bard braum gangplank anivia renekton wukong ecc...) Frenzy fire: travel speed of projectiles (skills, autoattacks) is 20%faster Specialized hunter: for the first 10 minutes damage to minions and monsters is greatly stronger, but weaker against champions. (Bard jungle has sense now, becauese he is so good except for clearing) Nasus or yi will like this. Inspirated experience (keystone): you can take another keystone, but it's numerical effect will be halved. Then for major and minor runes you can build ANY combination you want. Something similar to greenfather's present (shame on me if i missed it) About tanks Differentiation in Two branches one more tactical, the other one about raw power. Inertial mass: while moving towards enemies or towers gains damage on first auto or spell and tenacity (think of aurelion's E or deadman's plate) Retroguard: If there are (in a range) more allies than enemies gain more resistences (and allies benefit too) Defender spirit: While near tower or allied building gain raw stats (speed, tenacity, resistences) (against dive, yeah) Other stuff Possessive spirit: Spells that reposition enemies gain 10% more range Grab, knock back (yeah, janna ulti too), push (poppy/vayne), terrain created. Dunnow about knock up. Dunnow about cdr increase for these, would be fun, but too strong maybe? Waiting patiently: Your next melee auto will deal more damage based on the time beetween the last one and it (thresh E, yes, maybe too similar, so i feel could be bad for the game) Extra slot: Gain an extra slot you can use for trinkets, consumables ecc... Servant Overlord: Your "living" creations deal more damage. Upon "Death" they will explode slowing enemies. Applies to: Heimer's turrets, Yorick ghouls and maiden, Shaco clone and boxes, Azir soldiers, Pix (Not the "death" part), Malzahar voidlings, Zyra Plants, Maokai saplings, Kindred will benefit directly from that, both wolf and lamb would get more damage and upon "death" of the champion it would apply the slow. Annie and Ivern would work too. WOn't apply to Syndra spheres and Gangplank Barrels, dunnow about Mordekaiser "zombies" and Zed's shadows Also something similar to deathfire touch.

Runes reforged are (FOR NOW) not enough. Suppose you are a support, take zombie ward right? But to do that you have to take domination. Andweeell... Better not on a support.

Actually Domination is good for the supports who want to win lane, like Bard or Zyra, and holds a rune for extra item cdr which is good for many supports.

Also let's see the predator rune, is it worth to be a keystone? Except for hecarim (and it's a maybe anyway) who would benefit from that?

Non-teleport-ultimate roamers. Quinn might like it(extra ms and damage upon attacking someone), maybe Akali too.

Riot has problems towards support right? And then why do we have 3 offensive paths and 1 tank and 1 utility. At least 2 and 2 (i know they said they could add more, i know)

Janna, Soraka, Rakan, Bard... All these guys can use 4/5 of the paths as their primary. Its fine to me.

Here, let's be a tank. (Dunnow if it works actually))

It would work on them, and you forgot Taric. YOU FORGOT TARIC, HOW?! He's so shiny....

Anyway, Many supports could choose to go Guardian or Aftershock(Thresh would like Aftershock at least)

Inspiration has potential but some stuff is meh. You can "hack" stuff, but in the end it's about consumables and items, only pro/experienced players will really benefit.

I don't know, I like the Inspiration tree. Im planning on taking inspiration(Glacial augmentation, biscuits, boots, Cosmic insight) and domination(Zombie ward and Ingenious hunter) for a peel centric build on Janna. Those masteries, + item 2045 will give 26-56% cdr on items, and with the Glacial augmentation you can have an aoe slowing field provided by item 3030 every 18 seconds. Plus slowing auto's with extra ms from boots.

Nothing is permanent (almost) And raw power goes off. Also. Off meta will remain probably off meta, and different playstyle is not too much encouraged. Suggestions and ideas

Off meta isn't "encoraged", but it is offered if you decide you want to take it. I could take Janna(yes, janna again), give her fleet footwork legend:attackspeed, and cut down, followed by celerity and gathering storm to have an on hit/MS Janna(it works with the current runes, so it should with these).

This isn't "encoraged" but you just have to look at what you can do with champs.

Also 7 sheild Janna with Guardian, and Magic negate Orb + her own sheild, item 3040 item 3190 item 3401 and item 3072, maybe item 3156
