Can I be blunt for a sec?
I honestly would like to say one thing: A lot of people on the boards have a thing with "hyperbole", and it's ridiculous how people eat this up.
Read a thread about how AD champs seem to be too strong because an all AD comp was able to beat the poster's nearly all ap comp. Turns out the all AD comp had
against his
. The thread had a ton of comments and people complaining about the state of ap itemization...but how does it make sense that a team can draft 3 ap assassins and a Jhin into TWO DIVERS, with your only source of peel being a champ that excels at catches and picks, and no one dodges that game? I was glad to see some people calling the guy out, but the sheer amount of people that didn't was discouraging. I don't give a single damn what anyone tells you: Team comps are important. Always are. Always were. Always will be. This is a strategic game. You can't bitch about what the enemy team gets to do when your team's a fucking mess.
Then there's a thread about some dude getting burst down by marksmen...Twitch specifically (surprise). First off, Twitch hasn't even been a major issue since preseason even began. Twitch has a kit that feels good in the solo queue environment, but he hasn't been broken for a long time. Even in the Censer meta, he was never the main face of the hyper carries used in it...because those were Kog and Tristana. People hate the guy so much, and I'm sitting here banning Kog literally every game now thinking "Man, I wish I could ban Alistar. Third one today..."
ANYWHO, turns out Twitch, who's fed, by the way, burst...a freaking
with no armor. Why even make a post calling for people to hate on adcs again when you ran your silly self into a fed Twitch ALONE? Who walks up to a fed anyone ALONE? That's just unwise game play.
And I'm not even done. We get that Stopwatch is annoying, but now that people are using it more, games don't snowball as hard since it's a great defensive tool that keeps 4-man dives and whatnot from starting them or amplifying them. Now people are coming out saying stuff like "Instead of Stopwatch, buff turret damage/resists". Here's the issue we have, though: If Riot makes turrets significantly stronger, that just makes turrets like season 5 turrets, and everything goes full circle again, where Dunkey quit League and everyone was agreeing that League doesn't reward individual play in the early game enough because it's all about turtling for 45 minutes and seeing who has the dumbest chimp farming the jungle, with either turrets punishing mistakes during dives too hard or turrets being too hard to get rid of for early game champs to end the game at their preferred pace (season 5 was the latter one). I get that people want more fulfilling games, but honestly, the notion that people aren't getting them even now is preposterous. I've had a good deal of throws and comebacks both just in the past few days, although the throws were more due to "player behavior" than poor play, but that isn't the point. The point is that it's possible to have long games and close matches, but it's less the game giving them to you and more you earning them. Don't bullshit me and tell me you can't come back from bleak games. You aren't supposed to always come back, but you can and I bet you have a few times.
I mean, I get that rattling the cage and screaming at Riot is kind of what we do as players to get their attention, but I think it generates better conversation when we're more realistic about our problems.
