Wondering how much time you have to commit to be able to compete at higher ranks

So starting september Im going to have to dedicate alot of my time towards studying and other stuff, and I won't be able to spend playing LoL 3 hours a day as usual :P Was wondering if it is possible to get to higher ranks, say diamond and Challenger by playing only 2/3 games per day. Because if it isin't...then It will prob be time for me to move on from League, since the only thing keeping me playing is the competitive aspect. Thoughts?

Appreciate the help :P

Time is not the best indicator for this because it's different for everybody but you can very well climb ranks by only playing a few games every day. It's just going to take way longer

I think up to that level of play would be hard on that limited of time. I wouldn't quit though just because it's not likly you'll get that far, progress is always what you should strive for not matter how big or small.

I hit diamond on this account playing 3 games a day. My challenger friend (top 40), keeps complaining about time to play league when he gets about 4-5 games a day. I don't think you can reach / maintain challenger doing this.
