Why Blue Essence

Dear Riot,

If own every champ in the game why are you giving me champion shards that only disenchant into blue essence for unlocking champs...? Don't get me wrong I like the whole concept of the crafting system and the idea of rewarding players for good play along with the dynamic queue have alleviated a HUGE amount of trolling. So, thank you for everything you are doing to keep this game engaging. However, I would ask that you consider giving some of us long time players something else to do with champ shards/blue essence.

I mean, it literally says on the website for hextech crafting launch that they're trying to figure out something.

"At launch, you’ll be able to disenchant extra shards you find in chests for champion essence. We’re currently exploring ways for players with every champ to use the shards they earn but we haven’t settled on the final form of the plan yet. As Hextech Crafting and loot continue to evolve throughout the season, we’ll keep you posted on any new features we add."

So.... wish granted? I mean, not immediately at this moment, but they're aware and sifting through ideas trying to figure something that works best.

Save at least 3 shards. When a new champ comes out, reroll 3 shards for the new champ.

Why cant my old champ mastery count...? Like I play the champs I like for a reason and If you have been loyal then you already have a good bit.

I think you can save up three champion shards and Re-Roll when a new champion comes out to get the new champion completely free (no 7800 IP drop).

They did say they have something planned for champ shards for those who have all champs, so just hold onto them for now

Why not just have one form of Essence? People who have all the champions can use it on skins and ward skins. And people still have the option to unlock champions or skins at their discretion.

If only you could use IP to buy Essences from the store, and that you could change between essences at the store too. I don't know what the exchange rate would be, but at least its something.

I agree. Why don't they just make it where you do not receive champions in a loot crate if you have all champs? I was and idiot and just bought the 10 box bundle and 3 or 4 of them had champions. Now I have 1043 blue essence. I'm just going to set up and direct deposit and donate money to riot.

I have only spent $95 on this game to buy chest and I get skin shards and champion shards. But I do not own anything yet because I have to disenchant some of those chards. So basically I am spending $95 for content worth half that at best.

Riot said they are planning some other uses for the blue essences, but they don't know what they will be yet.

I think they should have either 5 champ shards for a new chest/key or some kind of essence price on them.

what if they allowed the crafting of tiers of gems item 1027 Taric item 1028 that could be crafted up into the purple gems? additionally, you could add a line of skins for each tier of gems item 3073 Taric item 3010 and allow the purchasing of blue essence with ip.

Look all that there needs to be is some way of dumping MASSIVE AMOUNTS of IP into things.

And those things should be summoner icons or ward skins that are only available for 100s of K IP.
