Did not get free win for promo series

So i ended last season in Plat 4. After my placements I got placed into Silver 1. I just got into my promo series for gold 5 but I was not granted a free win. Can someone explain??

Promo Helper free wins were reset with the new season. You can't earn them during the preseason and carry them over.
