Why are blast plants so hard to hit

every time I want to escape in style and try to hit the blast plant and end up clicking right next to it and it feel like I clicked it but this hitbox is just too small you aim you mouse at.

I think it has such a small hitbox on purpose in order to help prevent accidentally clicking on it when you don't mean to. For instance, say you're running away from an enemy jungler. You have to run to the other side of the blast cone first before you explode it. If the hitbox is too big, you might end up clicking on it by accident as you attempt to run around it and exploding it prematurely, sending you right into the arms of that Warwick.

Imo I think it should be removed. That thing has killed me more than its saved me via my teammates having self preservation and launching me back into the enemies.

Honestly if they let use A click the damn thing it wouldn't be an issue

All you guys using blast plants to escape all the time.

I'm over here just using them to get around the map .5 seconds quicker

I thought I was the only one with this issue

Honestly plants were a failure from the get go. The Blast cones are too unpredictable for easy use, the regen plant in the river has led to this awful perma-gank meta, and the vision ones are useless until late game since they give away your location to anyone paying attention.

I'd rather go back to all camps giving unique buffs again, or just no more gimmicks period.

I'd say its a player mouse accuracy problem. I sometimes have trouble hitting them as well. However, that doesn't mean their hitboxes should be adjusted. They are suitable for the size of the plant.

If you have issues hitting the plant, you can change the speed of your mouse.

Also unlocking your camera helps keep the plant still.

I think this is probably a good thing.

As much as i hated the few times I've died when i could have escaped because i swear i hit the plant but instead i just stood there, it's much better than accidentally hitting it and blasting yourself and/or teammates to certain death / away from a certain kill.

I not really though. Plus if it is too small you can just zoom in on it because you're going to a specific spot around it anyways.

I usually have locked camera (I bound it to spacebar to make i easy to free it) and while it's locked it is really hard to hit the blast cones. When I know I need to use a blast cone in a tight spot I make sure to unlock the camera and it becomes noticeably easier to click on the plant.
