Why are LoL players so hostile against Heroes of the Storm players?

I've seen LoL players say nothing but negative things about HotS, like how it's a "noob moba game" or how it's "no skill" or "no fun". HotS does requires skills, just different kind of skills. It requires you to cooperate and help other teammates, rather than trying to score a 20/0 with your overfed ADC. There's way more emphasis on objective control and pushing strategies in HotS, whereas in LoL getting dragon or baron is considered an afterthought.

You also get unique heroes like Murky, Abathur, Cho'Gall, or The Lost Vikings that would probably be deemed "too cancerous" for LoL, resulting in the game to be full of mostly generic champions.

Same reason DotA players hate league - they think they're better because they're playing the harder game of the same genre.

Thats why we call things "opinions" and as far as i know we arent a hive mind, i like both, both are fun, both can stay in the own lanes, both offer unique aspects to MOBA's. Dont give a damn what other people say (irony) see Heroes for yourself and see if you enjoy it. be the one to make the choice, not the boards

Why are Chicago Bears fans so hostile towards Green Bay packers fans?

Why are Red sox fans so hostile towards Yankees fans?

It's because it is mechanically weakened. With no gold system, no items, and equal leveling mechanics, the game loses a lot of complexity. It takes different skills, but it is definitely more dumbed down. It's definitely unique and can be fun, but it's missing key macro mechanics that just results in it being easier. It's still a QWER system with customizable kit paths, so you have to adapt to playing multiple ways vs each champion sometimes, however otherwise it's just dumbed down. Their are map objectives to complete, such as League. You're not rewarded as much for success. You lose personal prowess in the game. It's a team game, however individual skill conglomerate is what makes up the team. League is also a team game, however personal performance matters a bit more. Whenever an individual makes up a team so to speak, and stomps your team, it's not because they picked some broken easy champion. It's because they excelled hard that game and got fed.

Champions are made based on the game system. The dumbed down version of HotS allows for the interesting champions like Murky and Abathur. If you added items and a gold system, I highly doubt those champions could exist.

I wouldn't compare League to HotS though. League really only can be compared to Dota and HoN. HotS is a different style of Moba, extreme enough that it's lemons to oranges rather than apples to oranges.

Because HotS is so easy it isnt funny and yet somehow its player base still sucks at it.
