Ward Rework Suggestion

We need to rework wards, if only because there's currently a very clunky, convoluted decision making process that seems to have arrived by accident, and Supports are making the best of a bad hand. Not because there was a thoughtful, plotted out decision about the implementation of wards. H

Right now everyone get's a yellow trinket, so supports start with that The Sightstone, which generates the same type of ward that the trinket does. Stone carries 4, trinket carries two with regeneration

At a certain point, the support upgrades to a sweeper or farsight alteration. But with the runes in place today, the best warding option seems (to me) to be the yellow trinket. That's because with Ghost ward, and Ingenious Hunter, you can keep a lot more wards out, with pretty quick regen time, and ghost ward keep more of the map lit up beyond the cap.

What I want to stress here is that the trinket is the best option. But you don't want to keep the trinket because SS does its job for it. And you all but have to get a SightStone, and going without one is considered trolling. But the Ingenious Hunter doesn't help the Sightstone because it has no regen property. Now you're using Ingenious Hunter for Sweeper or Farsight which isn't bad, but it's not the best. And you can't keep the best because then you miss out on a sweeping or permanent option. I feel like I'm beating the same dead horse here but I want to make this clear. The system of SightStone combined with runes negates it's best functionality.

All this is prior to discussing red wards and Blackout. Things supports either need or could use but don't get.

The system changed in the wrong direction for the status quo. I'm fine with the SS change and the Rune changes, but those changes didn't happen in a vacuum. So here are some options you have in lieu of the current system:

  1. You could allow SightStone to Regen. I doubt people would go for this because it affects brackets differently. (e.g. OP in upper, fine in lower)

  2. You could make the Ghost Wards Far Sight Alteration wards. Meaning they'd be visible, last forever, but you couldn't interact with them (and why should you? they're ghosts).

  3. You could include a quest-up Sightstone option that provides Blackout. This resolves the need for sweeper and the lack of Red Wards post full-build.

  4. Blue gets buffed. Either it provides some other benefit (another discussion) or it's eliminated.
