Bard should have been released as OP not UP

This applies to release of any champion.

Releasing champions as OP helps players to acknowledge thier strong points quicker. It also quickens learning time of other players than Bard player to better intercat with him or against him.

On the other hand releasing champions as UP makes them being less played and therefore time to learn to play them/ against them/ with them is longer.

I think we actually need for Bard to be OP to be able to use him effectively after he is nerfed.

Some of my points about Bard:

Right now he is not in a good state. Last patch was good, but the main buff was more damage to Q. And we do not need more damage. His Q actually needs more tools to be effectively used.

Something like - longer range, bigger width, higher projetile speed. (not all at once) And the targeting of the second target is pretty annoying. It probably should target just targets that are in a narrow cone. Right now second target can be almost in 90 degrees to the first one.

If you want people to play the new champion, just put it on the free to play rotation earlier than you do currently. I don't think it's a good thing to make a new champion OP by default - it's less disruptive to start a champion slightly underpowered and nudge him up to the line than deliberately dropping a bomb on the competitive scene knowing you're going to have to undo that damage.

It also means you can avoid the accusation that you're doing it to drive up sales from anyone wanting to pay to win.

New champions are already banned in every game the week following their release, for no reason. If they are even slightly OP, it is even worse. Think rek'sai. Impossible to play for 3 weeks, because perma-banned.
