So... my winrate with Taliyah is actually 70%

I've played 17 games with her of which I've won 12, in ranked. I just wanted to bring this up because people keep telling me "GG mid, she does no dmg, we'll lose, it's a 4v5 now" and things like that.

Now, I play low/mid gold so me carrying as her might not be a reliable proof that she isn't as trash as people say, but I honestly think Riot did a great job with her kit.

People say she's easy to use, but in reality, her kit is so unforgiving that if you mess up once, you might completely lose the game. This stems from the fight-changing quality of her ult and W, and the cooldowns that come with them. If you mess up your E-W combo, it's over. If you ult the wrong place, It's over. But I feel like with practice, she can actually be strong.

Therefore, I would like to see the Taliyah hate be stopped. Please?

This reminds me of that guy who showed his winrate one week into the Syndra release and was saying that because he had won something like 20 games out of 30, that she was actually really good. She ended up being trash though that needed major bugfixes and buffs, and that guy was just some combination of good and lucky.

I also had a friend who used to ADC Lissandra a couple years ago. He swore it was really great because he had a 55% winrate on her. It was still trash, but it was trash he was good with. Him winning with it didn't make it any less terrible.

Point is, your winstreak really means nothing to me because you're one guy. I think it says much more about you than your champion. There has always, always been someone who has done well with even the most terrible things, weak, underpowered things in League. That's not a sufficient standard for calling something good.

Therefore, I would like to see the Taliyah hate be stopped.

Nah. I'm fine with stopping the hate towards people who pick Taliyah, but the champion is still pretty bad.

its not that i hate the champ.

but its a obviously high skillcap champ. and i hate people who are idiots and try to go into my ranked games with her day 1 without having even looked at what she even does. even if you know what her abilities do, youre probably still not going to be good at her in your first game.

ill probably keep banning her out from my teammates as long as necessary to make absolutely sure this shit wont happen.

I don't mean to crush your dreams, but everyone is viable in Gold.

We look at Taliah in Plat and laugh at her.

Legit a joke, so easy to beat, and rarely anybody picks her.

what's up pimps, it's BrofrescoFanboy87 here! today I'm playing taliyah for the first time ever in ranked! and even though it's my first time playing this champion, I already main her! and also, I was boosted to platinum from plastic 19! Totally not fucking my team over or anything! :^)

by the way in case this seemed random, what I'm trying to convey is that people have a problem with the people that suck with her as she has a very high skill cap. I'm yet to see anyone lower than platinum 2 win lane with her (personally) so that's a huge reason people are hating on the new champion so much

I like playing Tali, any chance I play Tali is a chance for me to improve. Thankfully, people stopped playing her once they realized she's weak. I even had some decent games on her.

I get that she's weak & needs buffs. I just hope this isn't another Azir case "Supposedly weak champ getting buffed when the champ was really just hard to play & once people master that champ, they can do some crazy shit." Thankfully, I don't think Azir had a 37% win rate on release or else I would have seen people use him as an example of "low winrate on release" champ. Taliyah is just a hard to play AND weak champ.

i think you just got carried

I mean, on the one hand you do have some success with her, but would you have had more success with a different champion? "If you mess up literally once, ever, you lose the entire game." feels sketchy, because if your enemy messes up 10 times and you mess up 0.5 times, you should be winning REALLY hard, not still at the point of 'oh my enemy messed up 5 times, but if i mess up once whoops gg'.

If you climb to the point where your enemies stop messing up more than you, and you can 'maintain' the win rate, then the point will be more valid.

A gold player using such an unforgiving and mechanically intensive champion will not have a 70% win rate with her.

Hence, one of two things are true:

  1. She's not as unforgiving and mechanically intensive as you imply.
  2. Her numbers are broken, allowing mistakes.

It's certainly not option 2.

How do you build her? Next time I get mid I want to try to figure her out and any Taliyah I've had or gone against has fed so I haven't really seen anything impressive. I can see the power in her kit, I just haven't seen anyone who has figured her out well yet.

i think she's pretty strong.

I've played 2 games against her and her roam is just so powerful when she hit 6

I think it's really satisfying to have a released champion not need immediate nerfs. Win rate only says how easy it is to play that champion, but you don't need heimerdinger mechanics to have fun or find a champion you enjoy playing :) I got about 73% win rate on kennen support in ranked with 70 games played and 80% win rate with 160 total kennen support games :) nothing is impossible

You might do well with her, but she also does seem to need buffs. I think she's a lot like Bard. I loved Bard on release, but he was undeniably weak. The buffs to his heal, Q, and meeps, were amazing and now he's in a great place (even if he is very niche and team-reliant).

I think Taliyah needs a few minor buffs as well--her W is super clunky and her Q's worked ground is very large for how long it lasts.
