Riot is the new Blizzard
Literally.
- Blizzard forced people into Looking for Raid (by gating content and creating gear barriers) which was a new and easier raid difficulty that no one really asked for, but you were forced to queue up for it. They have fixed some of the issues (not all), but the damage has already been dealt. It included a queue system that put random people together (when raids traditionally required you to set up a group manually - which was a far better experience). The result was triviliaztion of real raiding (you basically had to spam LFR for a couple of weeks/months to gear up for the higher difficulties, but by then you were already sick and tired of doing the same raid over and over again with all the toxicity LFR brought only to repeat the cycle yet again). This is when they started losing a lot of subs.
Interestingly enough, Riot also seem to think that forcing people into specific queue systems and removing choice is a good idea.
- Blizzard wants to dictate how the players play. Blizzard genuinely believes that they know what's best, despite them basically losing 50% of their player base in a couple of months. They believe dumbing down WoW for the more "casual players" is the way to go. Despite an all time high of player dissatisfaction they continue with this ridiculous philosophy You might have heard about Blizzard's shutdown of a Vanilla WoW server with 120k players. That's how crappy the game has become due to Blizzard's ego - people would rather play older expansions created back when Blizzard wasn't completely corrupted.
Dynamique queue is a forced mechanic that strips the fun out of being a solo player. It isn't unimaginable that people would create their own LoL servers to bring back the old solo queue.
- Blizzard doesn't listen to feedback. There's always been a ton of constructive feedback on the Test Realms forums and beta forums. Literally everything is ignored.
Can't exactly say Riot's been listening to feedback lately. It's a good way to go if you want to dig your own grave.
- Blizzard's reputation has been destroyed (and with good reason). When was the last time you saw someone put Blizzard in a good light that wasn't paid for it? Just head over to the battle.net forums and read all the whine. Blizzard lives on past glory. Eventually, it'll fade. What will be left?
Riot's literally been given a "what not to do-list" by Blizzard. They can either avoid doing the same mistakes or keep going on their current path. It surely won't end well.
