Why can Jax E counter Abilities? and Can it get reworked so it can not?

Ahiri Q, Ult, and E
and I also seen this jax counter riven ult
What is the deal the tooltip says auto attacks not abilities!

I thought he only reduced damage of aoe abilities?
you sure you downloaded the right league of legends game ? lol jax doesnt block spells buddy, only AA
Jax can't dodge that stuff.
Jax's E only blocks auto attacks and reduces AoE damage during it's duration. I often pick Ahri into a jax team comp as I can charm him away from his intended target. As a Jayce, your E+Q combo damage is reduced by his dodge but not all together blocked. If he also has his ultimate going and is building tanky it could -FEEL- like it's doing no damage, but it's just heavily reduced by armor+health+dodge reduction
