After a recent game where every lane lost hard against mechanically superior players, I decided to take a look at their team to see if my whole team just had an off game or if something more nefarious was at work. How does a computer determine that this as a balanced matchup?

Team 1: 468 Total ranked wins. player 1: Silver 1 Player 2: Gold Player 3: Gold Player 4: Gold Player 5: Silver 1

Team 2 239 Total ranked wins. Player 1: Silver 3 Player 2: Silver 4 Player 3: Silver 2 Player 4: Silver 3 Player 5: Silver 3

This is flawed to it's core.

Riot, pick divisions or MMR / elo to match your players into games. The quasi system leads to servers derping and ruining the fun competitiveness that I enjoy about playing ranked games with peers of a similar skill level.

Pulling just the number of ranked wins is useless by itself. If your team's won 239, but played in 410 total then yall are doing pretty well and have a higher MMR and probably are close to ranking up. If the enemy team has won 468 but played in 1000 games total they're not doing very well and probably about to be paired down. Don't know what the actual numbers are, but what you're looking at is nearly useless by itself.d

The problem is that Riot can always say "well, LP isn't the same thing as MMR, so the game was actually balanced". They might be telling the truth, but why not just get rid of LP and save yourself the complaints in the first place?

Yeah, I've noticed that the blue side/red side skill discrepancy is much higher right now. Blue side will always have lesser skilled players than red side because blue side has an inherent camera and map layout advantage.

I agree though, at the moment, I'd rather be on red side because my team plays better and I get more LP.

About half of my ranked wins/losses this season are due to 4v5s or 5v4s from DCs. Doesn't tell anything about how well I play.
